Different spoiler, and you'd still have to get the port-installed fogs to be a full GT86 (GT/GTS).

You could always get Canadian mirrors, we have heated mirrors on every FR-S here. Winter package, oh yeah! :D

Monogram = Australian Toyota 86 GTS ?

I don't understand why people are getting up in arms with this, if you don't like the extra goodies, don't buy it.
And to people who say it's a dumb move by Scion: I don't think so. They're just going to get new buyers who like the FR-S front end, but wanted the goodies, to buy theirs over the BRZ. On top of that, there's always the potential of trade-ins.

Dat business strategy

Basically yes, something we weren't offered before in North America (beside 10 series). Not including BRZ trim levels.

Why don't they just make the damn cars with everything on it from the get go? Clearly they can get all the parts onto USDM vehicles... Clearly people are willing to pay the extra for the additional features on an FR-S. Why not just make it standard/add-on option?

Because everyone would cry that the base price was $27k if all of this was standard.

I like the special editions. I see around 5 white 5th gen 4Runners every day. I'd be all over a Trail Team edition like they do for the FJ.

I'm glad Subaru doesn't d*ck us around with the BRZ.

Rear-seat center armrest, really? You think someone is actually going to sit back there and make use of it?

This car has $4000 of extra garbage that you can add aftermarket if you REALLY want it and cheaper.

Best thing this has is the Alcantara seats. That's it.

This is just like adding a trim level like the BRZ. I'm not seeing what's so special. You either want the extra goodies inside or save your money and get what you really want aftermarket. That was the whole reason I didn't buy a BRZ, actually. Pricier for a bunch of stuff on the inside.

I bought it and used mine... while sitting in the backseat for short road trips while letting my friends drive. Additionally, it helps the interior not look as cheap. I paid MSRP for my BRZ Limited with options. I want it to look like a near $30k, damnit! haha

I should post pictures of me trying to sit in the backseat. (I'm 6'6")

Even cleaning the back window is a pita... lol.

FYI, I visited Alaska last August. Crazy windy roads, but some of the roads outside of Anchorage are a rough surface. I was thinking it would be fun during the summer for drives in Alaska, but winter is a definite nope!

thehapaone 01-10-2014 12:51 PM

well...too bad they didn't release this last year it's exactly what I wanted before deciding to get my BRZ
