fluid leak passenger side

after my sorta spirited commute home im doing fine car seems fine i slow down and roll towards a light in gear then smoke blows out my hood on the left side. i read now about cam plate leaks? this was quite a lot of liquid, some even leaking on the radiator mount, which was green  i couldnt tell if the others was oil or coolant, ill taste it when i round up my cajonies.

A little taste test wouldn't hurt lol were you able to identify the source of the leak? A pressure test might help detect where the leak is coming from.

Why not check your fluid levels and see which is low? Coolant overflow is exceedingly simple to check. Oil film will feel slippery on your fingers, coolant will not. No need to taste, smell and feel are sufficient

I can't really tell if its oily because of the reflection, but from that side of the car, there is coolant fill bottle. Which looks like something exploded based on the stains on the hood. Either a radiator hose is loose, or something to do with it.

That brake fluid reservoir looks like it needs some love. Shouldn't really be that dark.

Sir, this is a clutch reservoir.

(and mine is about as dark. I'm just too lazy to flush it).

I think the yellow cap one is for the brake and the black cap is the clutch, I know because that's how mine is LOL. Unless it used to be different in older models.

Mine are black (clutch) and yellow (brake) as well, but Googling "subaru brz engine bay" shows some had yellow clutch caps. In the OP's picture it's obviously the clutch reservoir - it's way closer to the brace, smaller and you can't see the brake booster.

Maybe a defective radiator cap.

That’s for the clutch. Brake is to the right of it. All caps where any fluid can be added (except radiator cap) are yellow from the factory.
