- Threads and sensor lengths are different for oil and coolant temp, so we can’t reuse those from the FA20.

- We can’t reuse the 13-16 fuel pressure sensor because it’s different threads. On 17-20 we can reuse it though, it’s the simplest option.

I see. So, repinning is much easier that finding adaptors. I guess the timing chain covers too are different for FA20 vs FA24

With the way i’m building the harnesses, nobody needs to repin anything (besides the fuel pressure sensor, for 13-16 cars). I am building modular jumper connectors that leave the FA20 harness totally intact and just adapt the existing connectors to the sensors on the FA24. One of the big advantages of doing it this way is, for example, if you decide later after the swap that you want to add a 1st gen evap-based flex fuel kit/boost controller/etc. Rather than needing to repin the FA20 connector back onto the harness, you just unplug my adapter and then you’ve got a gen1 evap connector again.

17-20 test car is up and running with my kit. I’ll have a video posted and the kits up for sale sometime next week after I’m back from vacation. Final price is going to be $300 for the 17-20 harness set.

Auto should actually be slightly easier since all FA24s have a vacuum pump setup like the automatic FA20s did, whereas on the MT cars you have to do some brake booster rerouting.

My 2013 test car is an automatic - unless there’s some hidden surprise I didn’t account for that we discover once it’s fired up, should be exactly the same process.

To clarify: All FA24s use a vacuum pump for the brake booster? Auto and manual alike?

I would assume that there is a hose/line that runs from the pump to the booster on all FA24s.

Correct. Which means on 6MT 1st gens, you need to acquire the brake booster tubing from an auto.

That’s gonna depend pretty heavily on the salvage yard pulling the engine lol. Most are monkeys and would sooner just cut a hard line than put the effort in to disconnect it.

Here's a diagram of a 22 legacy. I imagine the twins are similar.
