Ahh, classic gapers' delay. A Chicago staple on the traffic reports. Every. Single. Day. So glad I take the train to work.

Worst part is that it happened on the province's only toll highway. I usually expect a higher caliber of driver when driving on it, but human nature, right?

Like I said, looking forward to getting north, usually around 100km away from the Toronto area, traffic seems to be way less awful. In terms of congestion, volume, and most importantly, most drivers are SUPER courteous. Actually, the courtesy part is true of basically the entire country, with the exception of the Greater Toronto Area.

Except on Fridays and Mondays of summer long weekends when that stretch turns into one of the levels of hell.

My one trip for work we were all given bandanas for a team building exercise. When we went for dinner I decided to ride with the Mexicans in their bright yellow Kia Soul rental. Driving around the Purdue campus they decide that it would be fun to pull the bandanas up over their faces and start screaming "we have the Canadian we demand ransom" out the car windows.
Thought we were all gonna get shot!
Holy crap. It's like leaving the 8-track in the player.

The beauty of that, is I'm either driving the opposite way of traffic, or flying and getting a shuttle, so I don't need to worry

Remember when I said cilantro is my catnip? Got a big fresh bunch in the fridge. Just waiting for the missus to get home and it's chow time. Mmmm... fajitas.

Am currently torrenting 4 seasons of Reboot on my phone.

All you old dudes in 1992 were probably like "man, 2017 is going to be amazing, we're going to be war and famine free, and we'll have unlimited knowledge, because the next generation will make good use of the internet" and here I am, pirating shit, being a troll on the internet and only going to McDonald's that have the touchscreens you can order from because my anxiety makes it too hard to talk with people I don't know.

What a time to be alive.

Well new episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation was still on every Friday night at 10pm. It was still like a year before DS9 and the Borg at Wolf 359 came out and ruined the future vision of utopia lol!

It wasn't even called the Internet back then, the computer magazines called it "The Information Super Highway". Who remembers magazines like Compute and PC/Computing?

I had this issue and it came with this slick fold-out map of the Internet.

I remember reading articles about the Internet in elementary school around 1993/94ish. Windows 95 was still codenamed Chicago and my dad just got me a new Compaq 486 with this crappy 2400 baud modem that we replaced with a Hayes 14.4 baud. The only access to the Internet I had was dial-up thru the Windows 95 Preview Program (paid $50 bucks for and came shipped in 30 floppies LMAO) using The Microsoft Network (MSN was conceptually to compete with AOL, CompuServe, and Prodigy).

Anyway I honestly thought we would have flying cars by 2001.
