The 2ZZ is an amazing engine, but I feel like bolting one into this car would be...too easy? What I want to do is build a 1NZ to hit 8500-9000rpm (84.7mm stroke, 1.67 rod stroke or something, should be doable). NA, that would have perhaps 160hp in it. If I can get my paws on an Eaton TVS R720 by that time, because those things are so freakishly efficient, I'd like to do a Miller cycle setup good for perhaps 190hp The 1NZ is 30.5 kg lighter than the 2ZZ, so this gives some room to mess around with the balance of the car.

Not gonna try building the 1ZZ, transmission options for these engines are hopeless. C60s are so expensive. Waiting for a 6 speed from Toyota that comes on a cheapo mass produced car.

Now that I'm getting more familiar with stick, I feel like there's not enough gears with 5 speeds! The rpms drop so much between the gears, and 5th gear is just way too short burning a ton of gas spinning 3600rpm at 70 or whatever.

I do plan on attacking aero drag sometime. Gonna try to do a winternship, so I'm limited to the occasional free weekend to work on the car :/

Most accurate way to weigh yourself. My gym has one and last time I checked I was around the low 130's and my home scale said high 130's.

Look at some Lotus tuned 2ZZ engines since Toyota/Yamaha supplied them. Swap one of those in there and have fun with it. Lotus balling on a budget.

No no my point was that it's no fun if it's an easy swap!

The 2ZZ is high revving and has great specific output, but it is naturally aspirated, so we can do better I don't know though, superchargers and intercooling add up to quite a bit of weight.

By the way @Dimman, here's your full supercharger power consumption and volumetric efficiency map for the TVS R2300 or something.

Looks like a good find. Skimmed a bit, I'll go over in detail after work. Don't know how much I'll understand though...

Yea, those damned unicorns. The only small TVSs that have seen the light of day are the TRD Aurion in Australia and TRD Auris in South Africa, to the best of my knowledge. Actually I suppose you could say the Audi S4 has a "small" R1320, but that's way too big already. Ideally for these smaller 4 bangers we'd want the R720 (for a 2 liter engine we'd have to spin this all the way to its own "rev limit").

I'm starting to feel like a Toyota motor isn't the best idea for a radical swap. It would be so much easier to keep the stock ECU and reflash it, but this is like impossible for Toyota ECUs.

I'd say the gym scale is more likely to be accurate than vs. the home scale. So don't sweat over it.

And if it makes you any feel better, my mother was telling me that she thinks I'm overweight cause she rather hear that I'm 130lbs or 135lbs than my current weight of 145lbs, so that I'll be more in proportion to my height/weight scale.

But screw that, my goal was 150lbs this year, but I'm considering of aiming for 160lbs instead. So 160lbs is/might be my limit and I'll be perfectly content with that.
