Came here to post the same.

Sad they didn't make STM so those of us in 2nd gens have somewhere to run, but whatever. Saves me $5-10k running national events next year.

I agree the S2000 got moved again (a car almost everyone has abandoned running in street touring) and they can't move the ND Miata into STM. I don't even have a 2nd gen car and I still think that is a miss.

STM has been suggested to them by multiple people, the STAC just doesn't want to add any classes.

Guess its time to acquire a 1st gen until the 2nd gen becomes competitive for ST. I've got a shitbox Miata I don't drive to sell and turn into a 1st gen, and STX parts sitting on my 2nd gen. Figure at worst I'll buy and sell it for the same amount and it will be like having the money parked in a savings account.

STX car acquired. Most of the major things are already there, the BCs will need to be replaced with my JRIs. Have no idea what the spring rates are, and it sits too low as well. Must say, they ride pretty well though. Assume I need to take the spoiler off before attending any national events. Not too worried for locals. Will get a better idea of what each part is, hopefully this weekend. Already has a catted header, intake, and tune. Will probably be getting an OFT sooner rather than later so I can make some adjustments.

Got under the car to check everything out last weekend. Looks like it has the Eibach sway bar kit with 25mm front and 19mm rear bars. I'm assuming that's entirely too stiff and I should switch to a 22mm Whiteline, or Karcepts front bar if I'm feeling spendy, and find a stock rear bar. I don't have any plans to take the car to more than locals for the rest of the year, so I may go ahead and try the current bars and see what I think.

There is an annoying bearing noise coming from the rear that I'm going to have a shop check out when I take it for an alignment. I've given everything under there a good shake and twist, and nothing seems terrible, so I'm thinking it must be in the diff. Also rear diff leaks, not sure if it's just the crush washer or the seal, so will have them look at that too. It may just be easier to find a used diff and replace the one that's in there than trying to solve all of these problems. Luckily these cars are put together like Legos and changing the diff can be done in an afternoon.

The Eibach 25mm is hollow and about the same as a solid 22mm....however I think there were 2 different versions with different wall thicknesses. Not sure.

Rear bar is also hollow and equal to about a 16mm solid.

I've got the Eibach 25mm front bar on my car as an SSC leftover. The soft setting puts you at a rate in the ballpark of the recommended starting point for the Karcepts piece.

I have a much softer rear bar, though.

I was told to post here with my setup, as I just won Nats in STX and my co-driver coming on 3rd. Few setup changes I want to change this winter, such as ride height. Anyways, first post here we go.

Suspension/driveline
KW V3 with 300 lb front and 400 lb rear springs
Strano 22mm hollow front bar
Whiteline 16mm rear bar currently set to soft.
OSGiken rear diff
Verus RLCA's
Rear subframe bushings
Raceseng camber plates

Engine
Nameless ELH ceramic coated
Nameless everything else with a turndown
TRD Intake
Tune from Revolutions Performance in Colorado Springs like 9 gears ago
Jackson Racing oil cooler

Miscellaneous
AP/Essex Sprint front brake kit
Corbeau FX1 Pro driver seat
2 lb Shorai lithium battery
Random bushings because I was bored
245-40-17 A052 tires

I'll start with; I'm just asking because I'm unsure of what the exact rules now that I see your setup. Not trying to start any kind of dust up.

Your seat; I read the rules to say that any seat replacement had to weigh the same or more than OEM. How do you get around that at Nats with a Corbeau FX1 Pro that lists at 17lbs?

Didn't they say that batteries like the Shorai are not allowing in ST? I know there was a debate recently about it but I'm guessing you didn't get any hassle at Tech for Nats.

Again, just curious.

The seat rule includes mounting hardware, so by the time you add a slider and side mounts. Or even just side mounts on a fixed base and hardware, most composite seats will exceed the 25lb minimum weight.
