I just installed the stage 2, 3 puck version. No problems. Using stock flywheel.

Ok just curious. I'm at 326whp 263wtq on dyno dynamics dyno and I have the 3 puck. It was holding up great and one day last week I was accelerating at an incline and my clutch started slipping in 3rd gear which is when I started the pull and slipped through 4th and 5th as well. I'm not saying it was the clutch because I honestly don't know. But it hasn't slipped since then and has been holding strong. Sent and email to PTUNING who installed the clutch and they then contacted Exedy and they said it was very unusal and they haven't had any issues or complaints with their new design. I checked my clutch fluid a day or so after it happened and the fluid is clear but it has black residue at the bottom, looks gritty. Not sure if it was there before it slipped or if it occurred after it did. Just sharing my experience and seeing if anyone has this issue in the future. Could've been from the extra load from going up an incline. Also I'm running the Exedy lightened flywheel.

I've also had slippage on the S2, revised 3-puck design and am running their LW flywheel. I've never had it slip on the dyno or while doing a 3rd gear WOT pull to redline (7400-8k.) I however, had had some crazy slipage when dumping the clutch at stoplights to the point my car doesn't even move. I'd then have to clutch in, let the rpms fall and gradually re-release the clutch pedal and everything would seem fine.

Oddly enough I thought I glazed the disc. It turned out I needed to adjust my clutch pedal. We adjusted the pedal downward (a bit below the brake pedal) and this allowed the pedal (when not pressed in) to come up further for more travel. I haven't tried in a long while, and with my higher hp/tq# but at the time on my 280whp tune doing the adjustment fixed my issue 90%.

According to exedys website, the stage 2 is only rated to 224 wheel tq.

Yeah I know and their stage 1 is rated to 199 or something and people are tracking at 400+whp and 300wtq and they've had no issues. Lol

Yeah true, I originally had the old 8 puck style clutch ordered and then the shop swapped it out with the new 3 puck so I didn't know the specs of the clutch before hand. I just figured it would've been roughly the same. Owell, I'll keep driving on it until it goes I guess lol

The 3 puck is definitely a lot more "fuck you, buddy" vs the 8 or stock. Engagement seems tough sometimes and others not so bad. It's always the rubberband take off when there's another car person near you.

Yep lol I get that too man. In town driving can be tricky with a bunch of stop lights or stop signs haha its a different take off every time. Maybe it's just because I'm not completely used to the clutch yet idk there isn't much wiggle room between engagement
