This makes me so glad that I leased mine. My lease is up 6/2015 and it gives me options. I'm protected from the decline in resale value of mine because it's leased and the residual of $16,698 will become Toyota's problem when I turn mine in.
I'm hoping for a Monogram spec Hot Lava in 2015-2016MY with a power bump (pretty please!). I could do without the leather and BeSpoke, but I can deal with them for the other goodies that I like. For example, the Factory HID's, dual climate controls (looks better, small car doesn't need dual CC though), and the push button start. Ruskymx |

They've taken a page out of the Miata's playbook... a "special edition" every year, and a bunch of people thinking each one will become a collector's item or something...

Another thing I wonder about is why everyone is so crazy about the headunit?
My base model 2013 came with the 2014 head unit. I sold the head unit for $400 and bought a much nicer pioneer double din for $300. You can add a GPS module for a few hundred. |

I feel like maybe i'm missing some information because i am not excited whatsoever about a suite of (and i truly don't mean to be derogatory here)useless 'luxury' interior touches.

I am someone who is not biased in this matter has no buyers remorse since I have not gotten an 86er yet.
I think the silver ignition color is beautiful. the original frs owners should rejoice that their car is not outfitted with any additional junk and is purest/lightest version of this driver's car. I however, personally prefer the BRZ front end and interior since this will be my DD for now. Although I think I like the gt86 headlights better. I wanted a BRZ but the dealers were quoting me ridiculous prices. I was going to opt for the 10 series after i learned the frs didn't come with hid lamps and the center console looked different. then i came here and found clint. will throw in my order in jan or wait for 2015 model year. |

I bought my FR-S with ZERO options, aside from the Whiteout.
I can customize and mod my car how I like, which I do. Most enthusiasts enjoy this process. For those who are upset or feel they made the wrong decision in purchasing their cars already because a future version is going to possibly include non-performance enhancing options are overreacting and being silly. If you think Scion/Toyota are going to offer said options at the same price you purchased your car - dumb assumption. I'd be HIGHLY surprised if they announced pricing and it mirrored current FR-S pricing. It makes zero sense. Again, these are non-performance options. The car is still the same mechanically. I'm truly mind-boggled a car forum for a predominantly enthusiast-minded automobile is up in arms over fucking navigation, heated leather seats and arm rests. Really? |

I test drove the Scion...but I did not like the interior.
I test drove a limited BRZ. I bought the BRZ. Not everyone cares about the same things. I actually do not think interior is a huge deal...then again, I want a somewhat decent interior. It appears this monogram-spec interior is that step above. Curious about price...if I knew this was coming out and would have been an option; I may have waited. Then again, I got my 2013 right when the 14's came out and got a really great deal on mine. So I kinda felt I had to pull the trigger. |
