Kinda figuring out this RWD thing finally. I need to settle down the rear a bit (ok, a lot...) I've also found that I need to use a LOT less brake. The whole car really seems to work better minimizing brake use. Carries more speed when it feels like it shouldn't, all because I wasn't unsettling the car. Really, really fun!

Nice. Looks like a fun course. Not a whole lot of braking involved in that one, anyway.

Exactly. My first couple of runs were poor, let's say.

Is that GoPro video? What are you using for the telemetry overlay?

Yep, GoPro 3 with an Olympus ME-51S in the trunk for audio. I'm using Track Addict to do the data logging, with a Qstarz GPS and a cheapo ELM327 for OBD2 data. Then I use RaceRender to put the overlay on the video. Super simple, the hardest part is syncing up the video to the other data, lol.

Had the first event of the year, and first ever event in STX, with Chicago Region yesterday. Managed to get the new coilovers on in time too, and was very pleased with them.

Pretty happy with a 4th in class, out of 12, finish. Especially considering that I was on 17x8s with 225/45 ZII Star Specs and the top 3 were on 245 or 255 71Rs. Wasn't too far behind 3rd (.099) and 2nd might have been catch-able with a better prepped car (1.6sec difference). But 1st, a good friend of mine, walked away with it.

I was 76th in PAX out of 177.

Tempted to get the right wheels and tires, but those are going to have to wait for the time being. Perhaps a mid-season surprise. haha

Yep. Haha Welcome to Chicago Region. We get people coming in from WI, IN, and other surrounding states for some events too. 5 runs yesterday. Possibly could have had 6, but very unfortunately there was a wreck that took some time to clean up.

Yeah, get that camber fixed, I'm sure it'll help.

It's going to be a good year. I already see things to improve after reviewing the videos I got... One of those improvements is proper camera, etc setup. I always wish for one more run, and yesterday was no exception. I'm not sure if have found the time I thought I could at the time, but... Next event! Hopefully the cobwebs after cleared from my brain and reflexes.

Just got an email from RCE. They'll be able to send me a new set of camber plates in about 3-4 days. I want to try to sort out the spring perch situation too before installing them though.

I'm definitely looking forward to this season. I think you and I should have a pretty good time battling back and forth, and hopefully Jeremy and Jim start hitting more cones. lol

We got 5 runs yesterday with 146 drivers. Could easily have had 6, we were on track to finish by 2:30 until a timing system issue in the last heat and a bunch of newbs working course at the same time delayed things. I was riding with someone and we got to a section of course with cones everywhere except for where they belonged... Same issue for the car in front of us, and they stopped to get a re-run too.
