My guess would be that there will be at least two trim levels. An SR5 with the NA 2.0 making 180-200hp and a GTS with a Turbo 2.0 making 250-275hp. Options would probably be sport tuned suspensios, ADVICS brakes, LSD, and TRD goodies. I would go with the NA version, personally. I'm not a big fan of turbos.

Then look into STI's. I'm betting that Subie gonna do it EJ25 Turbo AWD (3 well known features in Subie lol).

That's my debate for me. Just say you're right & they release 2 basic options: SR-5 (NA) & GTS (Turbo). Now, I love to have NA to do some fun summer canyon runs. At the same time, when I go to track I want some Turbo to make Z, Genesis & other expensive cars to run for their money... Hard decision.

That's true but I would rather not complicate things going turbo. I'm afraid of going overboard with all the upgrades not to mention cooling issues. I'd rather keep things simple with NA and a few mods. Most of the serious mods will go to the suspension. But I understand. I'm sure if I go NA every time I see a Turbo FT I will second guess my choice.

I haven't heard or seen much overheat with H4 engine, so overheating isn't a concern.

Yeah, I'll be workin' on when I buy this car will be the suspension set up too. My main issue is to make this car into weekend/track car or DD car. Having FR car in snowing winter and DD here gonna be nightmare.

a 2.5L turbo would make this thing rather nose heavy, and possibly close to 2900 lbs; but still would fly i bet
now i could see a 2.0 turbo for the subie, that would be sweet i bet; 220 hp in a 26-2700 lb package

I've been driving a miata year round for the last couple years, from northern Iowa clear up to Duluth, MN. and with snow tires on all four corners, it was great fun every time it snowed. You can drift around every corner with no real danger - no squealing tires, no speeding tickets, no bald tires - not too shabby. There was only one time where we got dumped on and I had to go to work before the plows went through that driving the miata had major drawbacks, but even then anything that wasn't 4x4 and had 8" clearance was having major issues.

Moral of the story, if you have crap tires, it doesn't matter what wheels you spin...

IDK, GC8 was around 2800 lbs. Yeah, I know it's 2L Turbo, but it's AWD, I'm guessing half a liter is lighter than full AWD tran. I'm guess when Subie's STI coupe (2.5L Turbo) comes out it'll weight 2830~2890 lbs.
