I also picked mine up today [from Mapunapuna Servco] but I showed them the TSB on the chirp being abnormal and both my rep and her manager were not even aware of this. The manager mentioned he'd heard it on a car that came in to be serviced [BRZ] back when he worked on the Subaru side but they both copied the print-out I brought and said if that cropped up on my car to call them and they'd work with me to service it, though both also said it was hopefully much less prevalent with the newer 2013s.

I guess we'll see in a couple hundred miles >.>

Calling bullshit, i went over that with them when I was there picking mine up >_>. BTW I was picking up my plates and saw the new ones out there

As for the mods: It has nothing to do with anything you mentioned. Its an O-ring on a puel pump. Put quality gas in it, you wont have a problem. Besides cars have all been made after the TSB (least if you just got one, mine was made in december nad picked up very shortly after) and it SHOULD come from the factory fixed.

Yep, it's the high pressure fuel pump. Not really high pressure, but that's what they say. I don't mind the crickets and chirping and whatever extra noises the car makes. Part of being a boxer owner to hear all the mechanical nuances.

Yep , you can even use half and half if you want! Something that Chevron has in its gas should dilute and make it alright

Try gettign some 2 stroke oil, drop a LITTLE in....like maybe a spoonful per tank. I cant remember the exact ratio needed. its on the forum somewhere though!

If anything take it back to the dealership, they will install a new pump (for free) Its a known problem . LMK if the 2 stroke oil works (it has lubricative properties american gas does not)

Did my first fill-up today using non-ethanol from the Aloha 7-11 in Waianae that has it.

92 Octane, so pretty much spot on for the car. It feels nice to pour LESS gas into the car then my old one and still have better mileage. Ahh, FR-S I love you.

No chirps so far but I'm right on the cusp of the 300 mile mark so we will see.

I think my chirps started around 300,maybe even 4 or 500. It occurs most often after the car is warmed up or has been driven for a while. I hope it doesn't happen to you Not that it has any effect on performance or my engines gonna blow up or anything but it's just really annoying....

"Hey cool car... but why is it making that noise"
