This is the most straight forward one I can think of.

Start in Tempe, then meet north valley folks near 101/I10, then Prescott to Jerome and back.

For E85 users, this will be too far to go on one tank because AFAIK there is still no E85 up north.

Hey guys,

Since you guys are heading Northbound at 8:30am from Piggly's, @GTO5005 and I thought we could all meet up in the Albertsons parking lot at I-17 and Carefree Hwy (3130 W Carefree Hwy Phx, AZ 85086) for the northside peeps...Maybe around 9:15am. it takes about 45min to get there from Pigglys. At this location we can decide if we want to take the Wickenburg route too. What do you guys think?

I took the map and marked the most northern E85 station, along with Albertson's parking lot that ninjarxman was refering to. The E85 station is pretty tight so I wouldn't swing the whole group up that way, just those who need it. There is a gas station in the Albertson's plaza parking lot for those wanting to top off their tanks before heading out.

What weight oil do you guy use for the summer heat? I'm about to change mine and I can't decide of I want to stick with the 0w20 or go a little heavier (to either a 5w20 or 5w30).

I've got after-market headers on, and through they are ceramic coated, I've lost the stock heat shielding. So I know it's getting extra hot under there in this 100 degree weather.

Most of our collective community track testing has proven the stock fill and weight to still be best.
But you could ask five different people and get 10 different answers about oil.

I have been running Motul 300v 5w30 with great success. Last summer I hit the track and saw oil temps hitting 280F+ Ran 8000 miles on that fill after. Sent it in for a UOA and it came back fine.

Since then I have installed an oil cooler and continue to run the 5w30. The temps rarely exceed 200F in traffic/freeway driving in the summer 100F+ weather. On track I was able to keep temps down around a safe level so the car would not pull timing, unfortunately my OFT corrupted the logs so I don't have any hard data from the track.

I send in every oil change for a UOA and have been able to get 10k miles out of my last change (not recommended, I just wanted to see how long I could make it last since each fill is $100). I have only ran Motul 300v 5w-30 after the stock fill. All data shows good results. So I personally recommend it if you can afford it.

Track tests on diff weights came back recently... I'll try and find the data sheet post here if I get some free time today.

Based on 7 laps on track, the "best" was 5w30. It held the needed psi once up to max heat.

If forced induction, w40 looked to work better. Personally I use the european blend of mobil 1 0w40. Car starts up nicely, and once up to heat still fairs well.

Best oil is always the oil you change

However if you are not tracking, 0w20 should be fine. 5w30 might fair well here in our hot summers, especially if you like to push the gas at times.

Tease.... What'd you get?!?

I bought @Bonks86 5AD 19s and getting new rubber this week. Now I can dedicate the Enkies to the track and get them dedicated tires.
