I just took the thing off and checked again. This is the shape of the actual piece, there's no stress on the plastic at all.

The OEM/style armrest requires exact fitment to not have any "abnormalities", I had some issues on my first attempt, bought a new console and realized the armrest needs to be like 1mm from the driver side of the console and like 5mm from the passenger side.

I still have a gap in the front on mine which is super annoying.

Sucks. There's nowhere else to move it. It's completely flush with the inside of the opening.

Just as a FYI they now make these in a Silver stitched model as well as an Orange for the 860 edition, These are Toyota OEM Parts from overseas
