Armchair keyboard warriors will argue about the sky being blue. The rest of us appreciate the time and effort you've put into this. Your initiative has answered a lot of questions people had and has put these on my short list of items to shop for.

@nelsmar nice work on the testing and review. Just curious, when you installed them did you notice if there were any additional stresses placed on the oem wiring looms or hoses (i.e. being stretched) now that they're higher up and having less slack?

As i mentioned in my original post the rear vent on the engine is a bit stretched out but a clamp will keep it on just fine. Most of the wiring "lifts up" with the spacers so it really isn't an issue. It was a tight fit and the fuel line to the DI pump is tugged on a bit but within reason. It is all quite snug after install and any taller I would call it stressed. I actually removed a good half of the harness from the engine for install, and then reinstalled the harness after as it was hard to install without pulling a lot. But I am sure there is an easier way to install that I just dont know about :P

Not that I know of. Motoiq covered the install pretty well imo. I would add that there is a group of wires covering the rear manifold bolt on the passenger side. They will be a pain if you dont move them. Also, you can remove the bolts for the heat shields, but I wouldnt fight with the drivers side shield until you have the manifold bolts removed. That thing just doesnt want to come out until you can lift the manifold. Its no issue getting in back on after the bpb are in place. I was actually surprised how easily eveything goes back together.

That's a tumble valve. We don't have that problem.

Well I just installed a set of these. Took me about 2 hours all by myself. So I can see how a shop can charge you 3 hours labor. It's a simple bolt on part. The main thing is sliding it between the intake and head. 2 people would be highly recommended. Especially if you are second guessing yourself on the install. I used some assembly lube to help hold my orings in place.

The hardest parts of the install was the wiring at the rear passenger side of the intake. Took a little to get to the bolts for the covers and rear intake bolt. Sliding the BPB was easy on this side. Sliding the BPB on the drivers side was a pita! Also the bracket for the injector control unit did not bolt right up. Everything was offset, so I had to stick it in a vise and hammer it a few times in a few different directions to get it offset correctly and bolt right up.

No included torque specs, so I just used what was in the Scion Repair Manual that I downloaded here. 18 ft lbf for the Intake Manifold bolts, 14 ft lbf for the covers. Some of the other small bolts I just did hand tight.

On start up I had funny idle and then the car died. The hose on the back of the intake popped off. It is very short but it'll fit on. As others have done I zip tied them on both ends. Car was just fine after that.

Driving, well I just went to CookOut to get some BBQ and a quick trip down the highway. I can feel the bottom end has a little more power. Top end feels like it's flat. This goes in line with a lot of the dyno's we are seeing. I'll need more road time for it and see how it does.

My engine mod list: P&L EL uncatted header, P&L overpipe, P&L catted frontpipe, stock catback (I just switched back to stock from the Invidia N1 due to too much drone). I also have a TRD intake (so yes, this bolts up with this intake), and Ecutek Stage 2 tune.

Overall, It wasn't too bad of an install. Just have patience and a little creativity. Hopefully I'll know more as I get to drive more, but I'm pooped. Well that's my quick review. Was it worth $400? I'm on the fence until I have more time as I only just drove up the street to get some grub. Not to mention all my other mods. I'm sure we'll see the price come down. Especially if there are some Chinese knock-offs. It wouldn't be hard to do and EBay would be filled up with them.

My 2¢

Is any one else missing some parts of their order? No tubes came with mine, looks like I am going to have to wait a few more days to install.

Well I went on a short road tirp about 1.5 hours away. Managed 32.2mpg on my setup with speeds between 60~75mph. If that means anything. Anyways, I like how the bottom end feels. 1st gear especially feels stronger. Before I wasn't impressed by it from a dead stop. Now it seems to build up power nicely. Tomorrow morning I'll get a better feel as I drive to work. Many stop signs and a few good downshifts will tell me more. So far I'm liking it!
