It would seem that a smaller displacement motor would naturally rev higher, so a smaller displacement head on a larger block would help that motor rev higher, but isn't it more about the block that will determine max rpms in this case and not the head? Shouldn't the larger stroke (higher piston speeds) determine the limit? If not, what is special about the K20A head? I'm a novice with understanding bench flowing heads or understanding fluid dynamics, but it seems that a head built for a smaller displacement motor would be restrictive at the top end if it was matted to a larger motor, even if it was designed to handle higher revs. If anything, a restricted/smaller head would make for more low end torque than allowing high flow for peak horsepower. Am I completely off? Does the smaller head actually have better flow? If I remember correctly (it has been a while since I owned a MKIV Supra), the NA head flowed better than the TT head, but that may have been intentional to get the turbos spooling or something. Nevertheless, it demonstrates that a small head can outflow one for a larger or more powerful engine.

Will you make a adapter for a intake manifold, or are you planning to run it with the F20 intake manifold,tb, etc ? For everyone who is interested in this, A adapter plate for the trans/motor will be needed (adapter plate link) http://www.balladesports.com (they also have the flywheel for sale) F2K clutch master flywheel (flywheel link) http://www.clutchmasters.com/aluminu...eel-fw-k2f-al/ Also if you take a look at the Upper Radiator hose it will have very minimal room as its close to the firewall..will there be a fix for that ? maybe CNC a plate along with either AN fitting, or 90* welded on. CORRECT me if im wrong on any of this information above but overall still should be a fairly easy swap if you have fabrication skills. Look forward to seeing a PNP for this. |

We looked at a lot of FWD dyno graphs when trying to design it. So kind of yes to both, yes it is a swap header but yes we did try to optimize it both in runner size and length. It's big enough to flow some bigger HP (300+) and the runners should be conducive to higher RPM flow. But to be 100% honest, as we have not actually put one together yet, it is a best guess until we test.

K-swapped and BOOSTED FRS with S2000 cluster. Looks sick.
He starts talking about the swap here: Says he uses an AEM infinity ECU. No A/C, but has traction control. He doesn't mention ABS; I'm assuming it doesn't work. I also don't know if that's an AP1/AP2 cluster. AP2 clusters switched to CAN in 06. Last edited by BertoFT; 01-01-2019 at 09:23 AM. Reason: More youtube links |
