I have a question. I did some searching around this forum and google and couldn't find the answer. My apologies if it has been discussed before.

When I press the throttle right to the floor, the OFT doesn't read 100. In fact, when I am flooring it down the highway, going through the gears, for example; it fluctuates anywhere from 96 to 89. Is this normal? I decided to reflash my car and use the instructions on the first page here for laggy throttle, by letting the car sit with the ignition on (but the car not running) for an extra while so it can learn cam positions and whatnot. Even after that, with the ignition on (and the car not running) I pressed the throttle to the floor and released several times over and it only ever reaches 97. This is all with the Stage 2 EL 91 octane tune.

My car is a 2016 FRS. Mods are an even-length, catless header; Full exhaust, HKS drop in air filter, intake sound delete, and finally the OpenFlash Tablet.

An extension with a switch helps. The battery dies in a few days otherwise

Maybe someone in here and has an OFT with a custom tune done with Shiv can answer this.

I was wondering how long does the process of getting a custom tune from Shiv take. I purchased and have been in contact with Shiv but all he has asked were some basic condition/model of my FR-S. I'm just curious as to how long it took to receive a baseline tune as my FR-S pretty much been sitting for a week.

Thanks.

I have not done the custom tune, but my rough understanding from reading up on it is the process does take time. If you want a tune done immediately, you possibly chose the wrong product and should go to a local tuner with a dyno, but they will almost invariably tune with Ecutek or similar (and lock the tune).

Shiv/team will send you a base tune, get you to install it, then you'll need to drive and data log for a period of time, and send them the logs. They'll analyze it, send you an updated tune, and you repeat the process for several iterations (max 7?) until they/you feel that the tune is as optimal as it will realistically get. This whole thing can take days if not a couple weeks to get through from start to finish.

As for delays in even getting that process started... <shrug> Busy guy?

Thank you sablur.
I have been in contact with Shiv; getting to know the car/mods/driving, and I understand it takes time to achieve the optimal tune. Just looking for comfort in regards to when a baseline tune would come around since its going on three weeks since the last time I have been able to move the FR-S.

2.5 barmap sensors that comes with the Vortech V3 kits wouldn't allow me to start the car. I used the stock map sensor to start it and move it out the garage and that was it. I don't feel safe driving the car as multi CELs get thrown with the car is on with the stock map sensor.

I'm sure someone could sort you out, configuring the map sensor isn't that hard. If you're running the OEM MAP sensor, just copy across the settings from an OEM map. It won't be an issue running the standard one.

You just need the scalars and DTC limits. 3/4 tables in Romraider IIRC
