That happened on the roof with my old one when I didn't wash it for a year. Looked like a god damn science experiment. There was like actual crystalline structures growing. Maybe a mini biome. I probably killed an entire civilization of microbes when I finally washed it.

My rear carpet would mold when the car was parked outside and not driven often. I believe from the door windows not sealing well, never saw any water pool just too humid in the car. Would never see any condensation on the inside of the windows either. I keep a tub of desiccant in it now even though it is parked inside.

Did you check the rear strut section? I remember some member complaining about pool of water coming in from there and fill up in the spare tire section.
