It's not that hard to do guys. A process is just a process just because it takes a little longer doesn't mean it's impossible.

Yup just followed the procedure, it's not that bad, if you are used to already jacking up your car than raising the motor a tad is a cake walk. It's a tight space but very do able.

HUGE TIP >>> Have them changed at a Subaru dealer - they do boxer engines all the time - they quoted 2 hours labour & they don’t jack the fucking engine.

Did them in the driveway & aside from a good 20 minutes fishing a socket out that got dropped, it took roughly 2 hours. It really wasn’t that hard, just takes some screwing around. But yeah, remove the cover over the injector rail and move the ECU. Car runs & idles so much better! I'll post up some pics when I have a chance - they didn't look horrible.

I hear people say they would love to own an FRS but can’t because it snows where they are. I commute 1,000 KM a week through the snow belt of Georgian Bay in central Ontario. I have oil changes in Alberta, Texas & all over – every dealer I visit tells me that I have the most mileage they have seen on an FRS.

And my car was NOT babied for 270,000 KM ... it was beaten and redlined continuously since the day I drove it off the lot.

Edit: in case this is what you meant, the manufacturer is Denso, and their part number is ZXE27HBR8. You could also try stopping by a Subaru dealer and pricing a set of plugs for a BRZ. Parts are often a little less money from Subaru VS Toyota.

It would be interesting to see more pics of the process. I am a very visual type of learner.

I took a peak at my engine yesterday to see how it can be done based on the OP.

Looking at the ratchet and tools I am curious to know how you were able to snake the tools into the crevice which is only about an inch and half to two inches in space and then get the plugs out....

Also manoeuvering the coils and plugs at an angle would be a challenge too.

The drivers side seems to be tighter and have more obstructions.

Good to know some are able to do it without lifting the engine. Just want to see more pics if possible.

I honestly don't remember anymore but the usual way to deal with clearance issues is to put the socket in the spark plug hole and then put the extensions & ratchet onto the socket.
