First make sure that the connector of the steering angles sensor (doughnut shaped black plastic part where the cable of the cruise control etc. is connected to) is top center when the wheels are straight. Otherwise you will have this exact error.

Here's a picture of my aftermarket wheel with a cruise control bracket:

In the second picture of this thread you see the connector which needs to be top center. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56868

Hey everyone check out the "Damd" steering wheels we have on group buy! They allow you to retain the OEM airbag just like the Cusco one. They are made in Japan as well and have a couple different styles to choose from.

So from what I've read, the nrg short hub needs modifying to work properly, what do you mean by modifying? I bought the hub thinking that it would work then found this thread and noticed everyone uses the work bell hub...

I replaced my fr-s clockspring due to me being an idiot. The original clockspring had part #83111CA20 on it. The new clockspring part #83196CA010 from a subaru parts store (since the sticker on the original clockspring had a subaru logo on it). I was hoping the dealer could reset my traction and ABS lights when I put in the new clockspring, but they said the steering angle sensor code wont go off. Took it apart and all the sensors are plugged in correctly. Clockspring is centered. My question: are there different clocksprings for the two cars? Why is this happening?

I screwed up my clock spring SUUUPER bad, but I ghetto rigged it back into the column, put resistors in the airbag sensor, and I am good to go. I didn't want to deal with having to buy something new, or going to the dealer. I'm too lazy for that haha,

Thats your clock spring that causing it. Make sure it's centered.

Here's a pic of my resistors on the connectors - assuming you have a WORKS bell hub. Blue to orange. Black to black.

As i read through this thread i realized that no one has been able to know how to modify the nrg hub to fix the light issues. Does anyone with an NRG hub accomplished a problem free nrg hub set up?

Just a heads-up, Works Bell doesnt seem to provide the resistor for the black terminals coming off of the airbag. I installed the 540 tonight and immediately got an airbag light. Heading to Fry's to get the parts to make it on my own. Also, i had to cut-off the tabs on horn of my Sabelt wheel to make it fit. Not sure if those with by the "Short" version had these issues, as i chose the regular size.

Side tip, no where in my japanese instructions did i see a picture for repinning the harness coming off the cruise control. I opted to keep mine so i dont lose the option to switch maps with my ecutek tune. Flip over the supplied harness (has two red wires), take a micro-flathead and pop-up the clip. This clip is what keeps the pins in. Remove the two red wires from the harness and set aside. Proceed to do the same off the OEM harness, remove ONLY the blue wire. Feed the red wires to the corresponding locations from the supplied harness. One red wire will replace the blue one you removed, and the other will go on the opposite end. Snap the clip back in and give the wires a gentle tug to make sure they're secure.

Plug the harness back in and feed the wires per instructions. I ghetto rigged the cruise control stalk onto the backside of the hub for now, need to fab a better piece to make it clean.
