Intake Air Temperature
I tried doing a search but couldn't find an answer. Does anyone know which (if any) turbo/supercharger kits use a new air intake temperature sensor in order to read the air post turbo/supercharger instead of at the MAF (pre-turbo)?
Or do all the kits just relocate the MAF/IAT unit to post intercooler (down stream of intercooler) |

Haven't seen any kits that include a NEW IAT. Having two is valuable information!

Thanks for the replies. It is as I had expected. Kits either relocate the whole MAF or they just leave it pre-turbo.
The reason my application needs a new standalone IAT is because I want to set up a 2nd failsafe for my water/meth injection. It would be a failsafe incorporated in the tune. To do this I would need the IAT in the area post twinscrew blower. When that IAT sees cool temps it means the meth is injecting. If it sees 200 C temps then the meth is not inj properly. In the later case timing would be pulled and fuel added. Just need to find an IAT that can work with the stock wiring(splicing in) and ecu. Please let me know if you come across anything or have any ideas. Thanks. |

So does the Full Blown kit. You get pre throttle body IAT that way.

Have you looked at the aquamist products? they have flow based failsafe that will do the same thing.. I think a few other companies also use a flow based failsafe (triggers on both low and high flow with adjustable window)...

I was going to suggest a GM IAT, but I had only seen it used with Hydra, AEM, etc. so I just didn't say anything. It's POSSIBLE that with Ecutek you could cannibalize some function that you don't need, similar to how Ecutek uses the EVAP charcoal solenoid for boost.
