No. Lots of people aren't fit to be soldiers. But anecdotally, women can't throw for shit. Obviously some can just as some white folks can dance. But simply based on the fact that the vast majority of women won't be as physically capable of throwing a grenade as a man makes them poorly suited too the job. Additionally they aren't big/strong enough(compared to the standards set for a traditionally male army) to do the job as well as a man. Shooting a gun is easy(physically), calling in an airstrike is easy(physically), carrying a wounded comrade on top of your 150lb pack is not something more than a few select female athletes around the world can do. That is my biggest problem with female soldiers. If they can physically match men in every test then I have no issue with them at all

Then shouldn't the argument be not women shouldn't be soldiers but that certain positions should have stricter and equal requirements regardless of age or gender? Obviously a mail room soldier doesn't need to be as fit as the one on the front line (but should be physically capable in the event needed). Or everyone should have the same requirements so the mail room person is ready to get dropped in the middle East ready to lock and load?

I don't really consider someone who works in the mailroom a "soldier" more like: an employee who may be shot at/shoot back. Women are fine for those jobs that aren't as demanding physically. But doing "soldier"stuff like kicking in doors should be for only powwow, regardless of sex, who can pass the tests. I figure, if you are joining the military, you intend to do soldier stuff, not be a secretary. Putting less fit people anywhere near a combat zone is just putting everyone in danger

now thats an articulate argument i can deal with better then "and that's why women shouldnt be soldiers"

I felt the 3 page essay about why women shouldn't be in combat zones was a little much for a grenade gif

This^
I have met female soldiers that could, and did, do anything that a male soldier can. I have also met (and worked with) many many male soldiers that had trouble getting out of a chair much less run or carry anything.
The biggest misconception I have every dealt with is that every single person in the military is in front line combat all the time. The reality is that for every 1 combat soldier there are 7 to 8 supporting troops.
Yes, those support troops need to be fit enough and able to do some basic combat activities if things go really wrong but they certainly do not all have to be able to carry a person and a 50 pound kit. In many military positions what you know is as or more important that how fast you can run or your ability to throw something so males and females are on an equal basis in those positions.

Funny story is that for every bad female in the army, I've met 10 who are far better than 90% of the men.

So you think every combat soldier is Captain America?

I feel the same way about cops too... seen way too many chips that are too fat to run. Especially with the mass shooting thing getting more prevalent, all cops need to be in top form all the time.

No, but they should be close enough. I'm sure the govt spent a great deal of money figuring out how fit one needs to be. As long as those rules are strictly adhered to and are the same for everyone regardless of sex, then I'm satisfied
