Backing it onto a tow dolly

I know it's not supposed to be towed rear wheels down. I towed my non-turbo and turbo Porsche 944s backwards with no problems. I cinched the steering wheel down to the sub strap successfully. The FRS manual says the steering-wheel lock isn't strong enough to hold it, so I would strap it down again. You worry about the snout scraping, but I'm not sure it's any lower than the Porsches were and I didn't drag them. There's a trailer in my future, but not yet.

I found a picture of what I think you did here, it might help.

Basically towing the car like how a tow truck does it, two rear wheels off the ground.

That's pretty much it. It worked OK. Once I got it strapped down to the dolly I would pull forward a few feet to straighten the front wheels and then cinch them down. Never had a problem.

I know what he means. It just sounds like he is coming into the middle of a conversation.
A tow truck would not tow the car with the steering wheels on the ground though.

Were you towing the way I described, and how did it work out?:

I cinched the steering wheel up to the rear-view mirror. No complaints.
