And I think the K20A still lives in Japan? Not 100% on that one.

Went to honda.co.jp....no civic listed on their site, then found this:

"However, the story is much different over in Honda's home market of Japan. According to Nikkei, Honda sold only 182 standard Civics and 270 Civic Hybrids for the month of October. As a result, the company will stop the sales of all Civic models in Japan."....That was in 2010...guess I missed the boat on that one.

Audi RS4.
4.2L 450HP, 8000+ rpm
Last powerful NA engine from Audi??

Kinda funny. Audi went for NA in a big heavy 4WD car where steering feeling is not that great...

BMW who has been more dedicated for NA, straigth six, RWD only, steering feel and mostly petrol engines have focues max on turbo and "watered down" their core principles lately. I think they are doing the right thing on focusing on turbo engines in these days tough. As long as lag is minimized!

Im guessing turbo will be even more normal in the near future. After owning a 2010 Cooper S, I really start to like torque and power from down low combined with great fuel economy and a "minimum" of lag.

Even Toyota will start focusing more on turbo technology. Source

8000+ RPM in a angry NA is still the best car porn tough!

Engines from the recent-ish past are also welcome in this thread. Especially given my bias for the S54

Yes seriously, the japanese market is so different from here. Not more civic sold (while it's canada's number 1 sold car), while the prius is the number 1 car sold over there.

But yea, as of 2012, Honda makes no more 100 hp / liter engine.
