This shit is pointless. They won't just offer the Scion with the GT86 headlights, dual climate control etc etc, but they'll release a limited special series every year with it?

Why don't they just make the damn cars with everything on it from the get go? Clearly they can get all the parts onto USDM vehicles... Clearly people are willing to pay the extra for the additional features on an FR-S. Why not just make it standard/add-on option?

I totally agree. Some people like the base FR-S and that's fine, so offer it and this Monogram as two separate trim levels...and everybody is happy. No limited edition nonsense and nobody getting screwed because they didn't wait the correct time or didn't have the money at the time. This is why Scion's monospec policy is a load of rubbish.

I find it sad that apparently a bunch of North American over-educated MBA's find their staged content intro marketing strategy blowing up in their faces, panic and cut the price $2,000 to regain declining sales while pissing off a fair share of existing owners.

Wonder if it's worth trading in mt FR-S for a monogram series, I always like the extra features. Don't know why I didn't buy a BRZ in the first place. (Probably cause I liked the front bumper better)

"Dual Climate" control in a car the size of a phone booth is funny. As to why they do it, see below:

See below. If I had a do-over, I'd go into market research and the psychology of getting people to buy something the don't need. Americans are not called "consumers" without a damn good reason. Bet ya a dime that the '15 or '16 model will be a real Toyota GT-86 and the cycle starts all over again.

It's no fun seeing that everyone else's car has all the better features. The only thing that would actually make me envious at this point is if a new model releases with a nice bump in HP. By the time that happens I'll either decide to trade in if it's worth it or go FI.

I really think the next one will be an FT-86. Look at this thread, and tell me half the people here won't be able to refuse trading a year-old car for the same f-ing thing. Hat's off to Scion's market research team.

I'm going with a yellow TRD special edition.

But realistically...half here? I only know of one actually planning to sell, all the rest seem to be speculating.

I wouldn't give Scion's marketing team credit. Chris Farley left for Ford, the current geniuses are projecting a 6% Scion sales decline this year in an industry where a sales forecast like that would normally cost your job. I guess they could claim it would be a 10% sales decline without their talent.

It's just a module you plug in or something. Notice the maps button that does nothing, it just needs the additional hardware add-on.

Heated mirrors are pretty much pointless here in TX. I've used them about 2 times since I got the car in June...and really I wasn't even trying to use the heated mirrors, I was just turning on my rear defroster. I'll be replacing my mirrors with the Rexspeed Convex mirrors which don't have the defrost feature. I'll see if I miss it or not, but I doubt I will.
