Alright Tucson Group I have some information from Fox and the Hound.

They are willing to set us up with parking, our own area up top with pool tables etc but it has to be after this month because of the holiday's. They will however ensure we have a spot in the main room we were in last Friday until after the holidays.

So it looks like we can have a spot that not only provides us dedicated parking but somewhere we all seem to enjoy. You guy's in? (I think I have most everyone mentioned... who am I forgetting?)

For those who have recently been through emissions checks in AZ (obviously not with the twins, but with other cars), what exactly do they check?

That is, if the secondary cat sensor is disabled to get rid of the annoying CEL thanks to running a catless header, will they detect it and will that be a problem?

Since the 2nd 02 sensor isn't used by the ecu for AFR calculations and is just for emissions efficiency (aka, useless), I'm only worried about it if getting rid of it's input is going to cause me grief with the State in 5 years. Or should I look into getting an extra bung put onto the aftermarket front pipe with HFC whenever I get it, and relocate the 2nd sensor there?

Secondary question attached to the first: if I remove or relocate the 2nd 02 sensor, is that location a good spot for a wideband, or should I have that put farther downstream in the exhaust?

They will look under the car for a cat, they don't really count how many they just want to see at least one.
The Computer check just checks the status of the readiness monitors. The Vette has always had them set to not cause a code and they have never had an issue. They don't look over the ECU code etc they just check the monitor status.

So, disabling the secondary 02 sensor will or won't cause a monitor issue?

Unfortunately I've got plans this Friday so won't be able to meet. Next week looks good for me though!

No it will not cause a monitoring issue or else you would get a CEL.

What your doing is not disabling it so much as telling the computer that even though it see's the data change its nothing to worry about/aka its not an error.

Let me show you in a different way that might make more sense:

See how it gives you options as to when the MIL comes on or that no error is reported. That's basically what you're setting it to.
So for all intensive purposes the system is working just fine, only that particular monitor has been told not to report an error.

So that would just require me to keep the secondary 02 sensor in the stock location.

In that case, where would be a good place to put the wideband? On the header or on the front pipe upstream of the HFC?

And during emissions testing, do they put RWD cars on the sniffer as standard procedure?

If your car is 96 or newer you do not go on the rollers.

Honestly its ignoring any errors so you could use that spot and not have an issue, I have the O2's completely removed on my Vette.

However with the FR-S/BRZ the only possible issue is if it throws a heater code and I have not tested that as I have my O2 still there.... I have an AEM Wideband but I have been too lazy to put it in yet as I don't know where I want the gauge.

I can't say if it will throw an O2 Heater Error that might be a question for someone like @nelsmar who might have removed it and run a Wideband there maybe?

Otherwise I would say put it in the Over Pipe.

Heater error? Like, it's not detecting that the sensor wire is heating up?

Most O2 Sensors have a heater to bring them up to temp faster, if they don't do so it will give an error.

Its only a possibility but I honestly had not tried on these cars, on the Vette you just tell the system No Error.

It may or may not be an issue.
