Are you meaning the R4 is Rear engine, 4WD?

If so Subaru does in fact make one.

Most people dont know due to the fact they havnt sold any new here in my country for years or only tend to be sold in Japan.
They have been making them for a very long time.
The 4WD Samba light vans/utes and the Old Domingo vans, are 4wd rear engined.
The domingo was a 3 cylinder inline based on the Justy engine. The samba I dont know if i 3 or 4 cylinder inline.

Both also come in Rear engined RWD aswell.

We were talking about cars, specifically sports cars, and not vans.

If it looks like that rendering from the Road and Track link I am getting it, end of story. Even if i have to sell the kids for scientific experiments to afford it, well lets face it they wont fit in the back even if they are both under 6 years old :)

+1... And an FMR over an RMR too. More practical, feels better IMO.

Hahaha. Sounds like you are the one not thinking wise ass, he said in reverse

Laika 06-26-2011 11:23 PM

Precisely! the world of reverse drifting is a virtually untapped area of the motorsport industry. It's only a matter of time...

I kid I kid...but when I had an MR2 I'd swear at least once every couple months someone asked me if it was front wheel drive. There were probably 5 mid engine front wheel drive cars ever (and they were almost all FMF). I never understood why anyone would even guess that it'd be front wheel drive.

seriously?...just.....seriously....are you trolling me...is this real life?

oh say you have a FF....you go in reverse...can you drift?...
oh say you have a RF...you go in reverse ...can you drift?..

fact of the matter...your DRIVE WHEELS are still the same as your STEERING INPUT...regardless where the engine is located... FF=RF

just popping it into reverse wont suddenly make your car a drift car..its not drifting...its called dog tracking...which is no different than a vehicle with rear steering, but with the added retardedness of static wheels up front (AKA REAR WHEELS LEADING)

Driving sideways is different from sliding sideways..

aka NOT DRIFTING..my retarded 2 second diagram

bigbcraig 06-27-2011 10:53 AM

Ya'll crack me up.

Theoretically with enough power a rear steering vehicle could 'drift', spinning their wheels as they dog track, but the only things that are rear-steering are what, forklifts and a few other miscellaneous things? So noone's really ever tried. I'd expect it to b every hard to control. I can't really think about it without my breakign out into laughter about the concept of an RF setup anyway. Perhaps FMF, like a saab sonnet (i think)? but yeah lets stick to good ol' FR/FMR with the FT.
