British Racing Green Special Edition - Probably Not For US Enjoyment

Update 8/7 - https://jalopnik.com/the-very-green-...-co-1836908166

Toyota 86 Hakone Edition costs $30,825 in manual form for the U.S. Also available in automatic.

Unlike the version available in Japan that comes with PP options, the North American model only gets the GT options with a switch to gold wheels and tan leather seating surfaces.

Anything from that site is suspect until proven. Need link to the Japanese Toyota page.

I'd buy one.

About time Toyota does this!

DarkPira7e 02-12-2019 11:54 AM

2 pedals, AND no stereo?! Practically a nightmare render. I'd buy it for this color though, I always loved the emerald green on the 2016 Corolla. it's also nice to have a mature color on the seats

Tcoat 02-12-2019 12:10 PM

I WANT! as long as it is a pearl paint that is.
Which means it will never show up here.

Yeah, I saw they announced it last night. Overall it doesn't look bad imo. Interior, I kinda wish they did better or more classy.

Paint isn't called "British Racing Green" due to copyrights, so Toyota just calling it "British Green". (color code: DAN)

Leonardo 02-12-2019 12:38 PM

I like the look of the seats! Also, the contrasting stitch, is in just the right places. (instead of being everywhere!)

The subtle color on the wheels is a nice bit.

THe one piece dash trim is nice too. (but lack of stereo?)

My first car was green; and ever since it's been one of my goals to NEVER own a green car again!

They should have called it 'Dan Green'...

It's an auto shifter, I can tell by some of the pixels and having seen quite a few photoshops in my time..

It is the new clutchless manual that they haven't announced yet! They are sick of reading the AT vs MT threads so have just combined it all into one.

No. It was crash free even though it didn't look that way with all the dings and primer over rust. I blew up an engine or three but I was still learning at that time. I drove and raced it until bored with it and then traded it for two other cars. I regret it all the time now.

Interlocker 02-12-2019 01:49 PM

Ooph! That's just about the perfect color combo for this car. I *almost* hope it doesn't come here, because I don't want the temptation to swap.

Ya I planned to have mine another year and a half but if that came here I would most certainly re-evaluate that plan.

None of those cars existed yet. Oh and I was 21 and skinny.
I made good money on the trade after I fixed them up.

Obviously not the same cars but identical models

Needs louvers, otherwise beautiful!

BRG is one of the few colors other than red that looks right on a sports car to me.

Yep, that was a fun car. Bought new, drove it 10 years on CA, 7 years in CT and had it in storage for 7 years in MO. Sold it when I moved to WA.
