I think the fact that the housing is made of glass and that the bulbs are H11 gives you a better light out put. The BRZ guys are replacing there fogs with these glass ones and making there bulbs H11.

No lights at all:

Thanks guys if anyone need help feel free to ask!

ron wright 01-25-2013 07:40 PM

was it difficult to swap out the new bezel for the old one? Did you come in from the wheel well, from under the front bumper, or did you have to go deeper?

Also, any suggestions for location for passing wiring harness through the firewall?

Thanks,

whitefrs 01-25-2013 07:42 PM

Sweet!!!

Where did u get the harness from

No

kmbkk 01-25-2013 08:07 PM

Quick question: from where (shop, online, etc...) did you order the foglight bezels?

bebopblues 01-25-2013 08:09 PM

Are these OEM? Where did you get them from and how much where they?

Thanks,

Its easy taking them out just some plastic tabs holding them in place. I came in from under the car way easier under the front bumper just remove some tabs and you should see how the dezel is held in place.

I ran the wires through the whole next to the battery (passenger side)

I got it from a friend, he ordered fogs for his Mazda 3 and they sent him 2. Any H11 harness will work just fine.

Not really? I had an H11 harness +Subaru outback fog light ($100 for both)+ JDM 86 bezels ($60) = Frs fogs

86 FRS 01-25-2013 08:17 PM

how about the harness that nigel sells? is that enough harness to run or u need an extension wires? and can u take a photo where did u install the switch?

or DIY would be better LOL

- [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Headlight-Connector-Socket-Harness-Moisture/dp/B002MVNM8W/ref=pd_sxp_f_pt"]H11 harness - $7.99 x 2 = $14.98 + shipping[/ame]

- [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Subaru-Outback-Replacement-Light-Assembly/dp/B002PQJ8VY"]Subaru outback fog lights (Pair) - $49.95 + shipping[/ame]

- JDM 86 bezels - $25 x 2 = $50 + shipping

Is that all? That's about $115 + shipping total.

brianlo622 01-25-2013 08:53 PM

does this mean you have a switch inside your cockpit instead of using a stalk to turn the fog lights on?

karne 01-25-2013 08:56 PM

somebody need to do a DIY guide on this!

Right now there wired to the parking light so that when I turn the parking lights they come on and stay on with the head lights as well.

Do the fogs help with nighttime visibility at all?

Yes, for the vin I just put "email for vin" I mostly filled it out as much as possible and on the description I just put the actual car info and what I needed. As long as they have a part # they are good.

First night with them and I can honestly say they do, you have a wider view of the road

I just finished filling out the form they said they will have a quite for me in one business day. Was that the same for you?

frsguy707 01-26-2013 11:57 AM

I can't wait to get started on this project :happyanim:

lbroskee 01-26-2013 12:01 PM

in theory, couldnt i wire this directly to my from parking lights so no extra switch is needed? plus i killed off my parking lights anyway so they jus work as blinkers (used single filament)

Yea, I think the OP mentioned in one of the replies that he just wired it to the parking lights. No extra switch.

Did you use a 7440 bulb instead of a 7443 to kill off the parking lights?

lbroskee 01-26-2013 01:33 PM

i had 7443, but 1 of the filaments died so i swapped the other working 7443 with a 7440 from the rear rather then ordering more stealth bulbs. ghetto, but u cant tell unless u remove them

ericvanderwoodsen 01-26-2013 04:16 PM

:coolpics: This looks way better than the people putting those led drls on frs like the brz's have, fits it just right and looks higher quality....
