I've tried letting the clutch up slowly and it still clunks unless I give it gas before it reaches the friction point, so I'm kind of launching it a tiny bit. I don't hear the sound if I rev to 2.8-3k then shift to 2nd

Does anyone else hear this in their MT car too & is it normal ? or does 2nd gear require really really precise foot work on the clutch and gas pedals ?
