If your physical key won't open the trunk, the next thing to try is to pull on the rear seat backs hoping they will fall down. Once down you can reach/crawl to the back of the trunk and pull the green emergency release handle.
If that doesn't work the next step is to jimmy/pry the lock.
If that doesn't work, abandon the trunk as a loss.
If that doesn't work, dynamite.
Then post a picture.
