I have yet to actually hear of too many tests on the twins, but the RE71R seems to be the fastest tire right now, but the Rival-S isn't far behind. I guess the Bridgestone rep at the Texas Tour said the RE71R in their testing is approximately .5s faster on a 30s course which is pretty huge. Almost everyone has flocked to the Bridgestones at this point.
I think he was comparing against the RS3

I am not confident yet the RE71Rs will hold up in the heat. I would bet quite a bit they don't have the same issues at Lincoln as the original Rivals.

The RS3v2 vs RS3 isn't much different, and I think results thus far have showed them to be quicker. Not sure it is as big of a difference on our cars vs the high HP cars since longitudinal grip is where the RE71s seem to really shine.

My wife let me know mine arrived too. Think I'll not rush out to get them mounted since I'm waiting on the coilovers still... Have PSS, will just let you be at me Sunday. Ha. Probably the rest of the season too, but with fewer excuses.

Kumho V720 has dropped, in two sizes seemingly just for us in CS.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....wtpackage=true

It's cheap! But not yet carrying the 200TW rating, and if what we see in Asia matters, not as fast as the Bridgestone.

They have 2 weeks to find 3 more diameters and 4 more sizes.

Pressures...?

Just placed my order in with TR for RS3 v2's. I ran them last year, but on a stock class Miata. It was my first year of any sort of competitive driving. Still learning.. but I did settle on 38/34 for pressures. (this was 195/50/15 on a 6" rim)
Should I be starting in the same ballpark with 245/40/17's on the BRZ on a 9" rim?
Surfaces are primarily asphalt, only other change to the car is eiback pro kit springs.

Is anyone using the 245/40-17 RE71R or Rival S on their 17x7 wheels? If so, how do they compare to the 225/45-17 as far as turn in and useable tread (up front)?

So another event on the RE71Rs.. And another #1 place overall pax win. Cleared next car in STX by 7 tenths.

Love these guys. Amazing lateral grip, you almost can't put them wrong.

245/40 on a 17x9. Pretty much complete DD STX build.

I just placed an order for a set of RE-71Rs. Anybody need a gently used set of 245/40/17 RS3v2s. Only 4 autocross runs on them and about 200 street miles.
