I thought about keeping the 86 and adding a 986 to the fleet, they're cheap-ish, have a flat 6, sound great with a little help, but really aren't fantastic handlers, especially compared to an 86. I'd be afraid I'd just never use it. Then again, they'll likely cost next to nothing to own over a few years, as I can't see them depreciating any further (although we can't predict the impact large-scale ICE restrictions will have on the sports car market) |

Hopefully this one. Just waiting for something worth buying... and reasonably priced. That may be a while...

Nice, but doesn't meet my definition of a sedan. A sedan needs to seat at least 4 people and be able to survive a speed bump at 3 MPH.

That's my 86 replacement for now - Being in the UK where small engines are the norm, especially for younger drivers, I want to try some interesting engines before we bow out. Likely to get an EV to replace the Jag next year, but the Alfa really hides it weight well - it's lighter than it's competition and barely feels heavier than the 86 whilst having that awesome engine, sound and feel plus nice to be able to use the car more often and in comfort as well.

The Alfa definitely does. The Jag is more of crossover, isn't it?

I'll always own at least one internal combustion engine car. even holding onto a carbureted unit in the event of a major EMP event! Oil won't be going away anytime soon. In event of a power grid failure, an all electric fleet would be useless.

Gasoline shortages do happen, and people do get stranded from them. Also, you get to wait in long lines at a gas station rather than just keep car plugged in for when power comes back on. |

Until the electric charging infrastructure in the US is robust enough and battery tech makes its next mass market leap I'm not to concerned on the EV switch over. BUT, I've have my eyes on a C7 or M2/MK5. I'll need/want a new DD in a few years first which will likely be a modest CX5.

I thought it was interesting they were showing it dyno tested through 200 simulated drag races with no issues. Think it will fit in the FRS? I know I could shoehorn it into the Suburban.

Also to note, you possibly saw on your news, we had a silly fuel "crisis" recently. Whilst I avoided it largely, it's meant that fuel is still silly money as the stations are recovering 4+ weeks on. Certainly having one of the cars electric would have eased the worry a little. Luckily the Jag will make way for something like an EV6 or Polestar 2.
