My early 20 year old self says modify everything… my late 30 year old self says if you want to modify everything; you bought the wrong car…

Love driving, love cars....and life's way short.... So, I'm that guy... sunk the entire/total (peak market) value of a Porsche 993 into a white BRZ. Probably more in fact. Who am I kidding, no flippin probably about it. And time.... so much time. Now literally worth less than an identical unmodified example...and costs a bucket load to keep running properly. As a special bonus the wife loved the Porsche but hates, HATES, the BRZ. (and I still dont think she actually knows the freakin cost...) BUT... best thing I've ever done, I'd do it again in a heart beat. Turns out you can actually get very, very close to making your own personal "grail" car. Gives me happy in the pants driving goodness in a way the Porsche never did, and no other car ever has. |

really its just levels to modification and approaches to builds. the degree you're describing is the minimum it would cost to go all out on any car. If you're into fully modified cars then that makes more sense than a factory $60k car, but if you're not then then it is usually always better to start with the better vehicle and do less modifications. All this stuff of course is subjective and based on endless personal factors.
