Anyone here heard of superstition or culture of the “end of decade bad luck”? I heard from someone long ago & always remembered that superstition & I somewhat believe in it, cuz it happened to me (& my wife).
The end of decade bad luck superstition goes like this: Every decade of your age (10, 20, 30, & so on) that year, life will give you all the bad lucks. When you turned over a decade (11, 21, 31 & so on), bad luck resets itself. Idk where in the fuck I heard this & trying to Google search & even ChatGPT, but nothing comes up. I was thinking Japanese, so searched using Japanese, but nothing comes up. I’ve heard of Roman’s breaking the mirror bad luck (which last 7yrs). There’s 10 years cycle in Fengshui, but it’s different. At least description is different. |

Nah, I did look into that as well. Of course there are 2 different luck pillar. One is specific to Fengshui w direction & elements to figure out 10-years luck, 5-years luck, & 1-year luck. Bazi is 4 pillars of fortunes/destiny. BaZi uses 8 Chinese words & your dates to figure out personality, health & so forth.

I thought I might share with you guys the road trip I'm planning.
I'm borrowing my middle son's f350 and taking my Exige to a specialty shop in Temecula California. I'm taking my trailer in this week for inspection to make sure tires, brakes, and bearings are ready for the long trip. I think I might have them put a winch in the trailer too to make loading and unloading easier. My son's giant diesel should pull my trailer and car with ease, and get much better mileage than my old Dodge Hemi. Plus, it has every buzzer and whistle, like driving your recliner. It is going to take 2 days each way, and about 1.5 weeks there for the work. The work: Complete suspension refresh including new coilovers, a-arms, addition of rear center brace and rear sway bar, and every bushing and bearing. This should give the car better handling AND a smoother ride. New motor mounts. Installation of the ultimate shifter. Complete door and window refresh. R&R any worn clear bra. A/C service. New headlight buckets, lenses, and upgrade. New oil sandwich plate with 200° thermostat. Plus a few other misc. small repairs. It is going to be a great adventure. Maybe drive up to San Jose to see some friends. The shop can store my trailer, which is nice. Expensive yes, but I think it will be worth it. This shop is very well known and respected in the Lotus community. Very excited! |

Had a friend that only cut his hair on decades that ended in 0. Looked funny as fsck in 2000.
He was a weird old hippie that contracted with the navy doing robotics and flew fighter kites. Passed away before 2010 though, so I never got to laugh at him about that again.

Going with the wife. Going to celebrate our anniversary while out. I hear they got some pretty nice wineries and resorts in Temecula Valley. |

Yeah. Would be nice if I could eliminate the diverter valve and go full thermostatic control of my cooler. It's all an experiment anyhow.
