firestorm is what drew me to this car at first. there is a local dealership that has a company put a carbon fiber look wrap on the hood, roof, and trunk on several of their cars. they had one showcased and it was firestorm and it look AMAZING. almost bought that one until I saw white. now i know everyone and their mother has a white frs these days but to me it's the best looking stock color.
i wish there was a yellow option either way, firestorm looks great. like a lil' ferrari |

to me it's a very dull read. it doesn't "pop" like hot lava or other red cars.

Red. I got a firestorm. The dealer I got my car from was amazed when it came in and later on they ordered 3 firestorms. It's a sports car. scroll up and look at the car's color on the banner. Yep. You don't really see white on old school muscle cars or exotics. It's just too plain. Red really pops. (I'm biased. All the cars I've owned were red or a variation of red).

Leaving aside the BS of statistics, what colours are considered the 'danger' or 'warning' colours? Red, Orange, Yellow. It is no accident that fire extinguisher signs are in red, fire trucks are red, ambulances use red lights, bees and wasps are black and yellow, etc. Humans are animals with great colour vision, and red simply jumps out at you. Red is an attention grabber. Red tail lights flare up to let us know that the car ahead of us is stopping. Red traffic lights/stop signs are a clear indication to stop. Now. Imagine if you will, a cop looking to fill his quota for the month. He sees a sea of white, black, silver and beige cars moving along. Suddenly, a red FRS joins the flow of traffic. It stands out. You better believe that the cop is looking at the sudden appearance of a red car amongst traffic, and has diverted a few seconds of his attention to it. He tries to figure out if it's a Ferrari or some other exotic, then he notices the hellaflush and stickers, and its all over for you. |

As a colour shade the red is actually pretty nice. On the way to work I pass a red and white 86 parked along a street and to be honest, as long as you keep either clean (like these owners do) then they both look spectacular. With the two side by side the red is way more attention grabbing.
Red does stand out, but then the twins generally always stand out irrespective of colour. I don't believe in any colour being a cop magnet. My last car was a local 2001 Monaro, known state side as a GTO. I called it the flying Jaffa as (much like the chocolate) it was a bright bloody shade of orange/red and black/orange on the inside. ![]() ![]() I never got singled out and randomly pulled over unless I was doing something silly. The only thing I was worried about, with having a bright colour like that, was where I'd park it and if some low life would key it. Yes one did key the bumper, necessitating a respray, but then there are people like that out there. ![]() My advise is to take a holistic approach thinking about what sort of mods you plan to make and how they will look with your chosen colour. I intend to go a white 86, white ray's rims, shark fin antenna, dark tint, red resprayed brake callipers and the full local TRD body kit (the large wing one), toms brake lights and have mat blacked out badges all round. If I went the red I'd do the same but go for some nice bronze / gold rims. |

Simpler way of thinking about it: if more sports cars are red than non-sports cars, more sports cars are getting pulled over, and they are simply coincidentally red. |

The bottom line here is that you are not at a higher risk of getting ticketed/pulled over because your car is red, and that should be a non-factor in choosing a color for your car. |

The firestorm is too glossy, you lose the lines in most lighting conditions, and it just looks blah. It should have been more metallic like the hot lava. That is my only, and i'm sure most peoples only gripe with the firestorm.

I have a Firestorm and I get compliments on the red all the time. Had a neighbour say it looked like a Ferrari in red (no jokes). There are too many white ones now IMO, but most seem to be the Subies, SW ON anyway. Plus everyone knows red is the fastest colour.
