I find that if I suck all the oil out and wait for a while, there will be more oil to extract. I also find that when I am filling the engine with oil (fill up, start car and check for leaks) I top it off to the full mark on the dipstick.... but if I wait a few hours and check again, its above the dipstick I think its just nature of the car for oil to be "trapped" and needs time to fully drain back to the pan which is why we get delayed dipstick readings after the car has been sitting for a while (reads high)

Also just did an oil change and had to fill with a gallon jug (4 quart) and 1/3 of the other 4 gallon jug and it was at the max dot
2 hours later it was 3-4mm above the max dot, sucked a bit out and now its perfect

Could it be the filter draining? If it is, the first level should be correct.

Just did this to my car this past weekend, easiest oil change I've ever done. Also didn't realize we had the same color with a badge swap haha. Also really surprised I haven't seen you around the area.

I use the Air Power America 5060 Topsider pump. Works great without removing the dip stick. It takes just a few minutes to suck all the oil out with the rigid tube. Also use it to change the oil on my lawn tractor. All metal and ~1/2 the price of the MityVac 7201.
