I'm running Amsoil for both the tranny and diff fluid and love both of them. That combined with the a transmission bushing upgrade made a big difference to me in the shifting feel.

A membership for Amsoil it's $20 a year and you get it for dealer prices. So a case of 12 is like $66. If you do your own fluids its a good deal

Easiest method, this fluid is used for the transale of my other Toyota and both the diff and manual tranny of me FRS. Found a good deal on Ebay for 6 quarts which works out to service both cars.

Anyone run or try the Redline Mt-90 75w/90 yet in their tranny and Redline 75w/90 GL5 in their diff?

I tried MT-90. It was an improvement over stock, but not a big one. Once the outside temperatures got below about 50 degrees F, it was back to the notchiness and crunchy shifting. I use Redline's 75W85 GL-5 in the rear differential. http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=40&pcid=4

I have MT-85 in the transmission and Redline 75W-85 in the diff and it is fine. The car is garaged, so I don't typically start driving with the car below about 40-50f. The MT-85 seems to work fine in this range of temperatures, but I really didn't have any complaints about the factory gearbox oil at those temperatures either.

Had to warm up the car and then it would barely shift into 1st, but most of the time it would feel like the gate was closed. It has been a week since that time and I'm usually able to get into first now but its very notchy in 1st, and somewhat notchy getting into second.

How long does the Motul Gear 300 last between changes? I was planning to change the fluid once a season, but at this rate it looks like I might need to change every oil change?!
Was this ever resolved??

Don't forget that we NEED GL-3 transmission fluid for our tranny. Otherwise Toyota can void your warranty.

Have you found any GL-3 rated fluid? API says the rating is obsolete....go figure. The last I heard even Toyota couldn't get the fluid in 1L bottles.
