I also have my insurance, car running costs, house insurance, condo fees, property taxes, utilities, cable to pay, which brings me closer to $2750 a month all together, and another $500 on top of that for food. Then I put $700 a month into savings split between retirement and medium term savings.

Living is not cheap but I live within my means and don't carry any debt other than my car payment and mortgage each month.

On the other hand, you live in San Jose. Cost of living is probably much higher than Calgary.

Seems like another mutual fund seller. What a genius idea. Sell people on being the millionaire in the retirement home. Don't tell them about uncle Sam taking a huge chunk of the cash, and make a killing off of made up fees. All the risk is with the customer.
