Staggered wheels + square tyre setup?
Hey Guys,
I currently have a set of Continental ExtremeContact DW tyres (235/40/18) for my 18x8.75 wheels. I want to sell the wheels and get a set of 57 Xtremes in staggered (18x8.5/9.5) and want to know if my tyres will fit them OK? |

235/40/18 would be a great fit on the 8.5. It would be a slight stretch on the 9.5.

But there won't be any issues with handling or anything?

I run a 255/35/18 on a 9.5 and its slightly stretched. Your 235s will be good up front but no good in the rear. The good news is that you only have to buy two tires and you have spares for the fronts...

If 255/35 is stretched on a 9.5" wide wheel, either a) we have different definitions of the term "stretched" or b) I've become a hellaflushist (aka wrong)

I said "slightly stretched" which it absolutely is. Stretched=when the sidewall isn't square. Could you stretch a 235 or 245 on a 9.5"? Yes of course..would it look ridiculous? Yes, of course.

What are your offsets of the wheels ? I run 18x8.5s +38 front and 18x9.5+38 rear with a 235/40 front and 265/35 rear on stock height and there's absolutely no issues with rubbing or clearance ... Just a slight poke in the rear but I like the look of it check out my Forgestar F14 thread in the wheels and tires forum
Many people told me they wouldn't fit whatsoever but I proved all them wrong

that may be a little too low of an offset, check the fitment calculator as well and also see who else is running a similar offset, if it was a little higher of an offset i would say it would def fit

Sorry, did you mean offset of the 57 Xtremes? 40 in the front, 33 in the rear.
