To each their own.
BRZ owners will wonder what the fuss is all about. Some FR-S owners will be annoyed. Prospective buyers have more options. I have always thought that Scion or Toyota NA should have released this car with the "base" model for those who want a lower base price and more 'stripped out' feel, and a "GT" trim level for those who want a "GT86". That way everyone gets what they want, and nobody feels ripped off when it changes 6 months later. As a 10 Series owner, I don't feel "ripped off" because they have this Monogram version now, although I can understand the sentiment. I still feel like my car is special; limited paint and limited numbers. I'm sure in a couple of years (maybe even less), Monogram owners will be annoyed when a new, higher power version comes out. Just be happy with what you have. Many people out there are wishing they had the cars that we have right now. |

the front is still ugly IMO, but this is great news for fr-s owners. climbing into the basic interior is typically a bummer, so having the premium components should help alleviate that.
these weight savings arguments are idiotic though. "i wanted less weight" and then you slap on a rice bunny kit. the same goes for the customization argument - "i wanted to make it mine, not have all that changed / added stuff" and then change none of those components. also goes for the price argument - "I wanted to save money for mods" and then you go broke buying a car you can't afford, or put on zero mods, and also pay more for a base model Scion than you would for a completely loaded Subaru. I'd call Clint and laugh all the way to the bank.

FR-S bumper > BRZ And those arguments don't apply to me since I have all the features I wanted + a better OEM radio. |

I can't believe all the whining. Wait until the upgraded 2015 performance models come out.
I am glad Toyota is not following Honda's strategy. Honda barely upgraded the S2K (I would actually say the downgraded it), and it just withered on the vine. It helped resale, but it meant that in the end, it meant that the car wasn't viable for them. If we want any sports cars in the future, we need the manufacturers to actually make money off them. Anyway, Toyota has said from the beginning that this car would get upgrades over the lifecycle. Upgrades retain interest and sales. The best one will be the last one - and then they will have an all-new version. Be happy with what you have or wait to buy the one you want. Or lease - then you can have the newest thing every few years. |

No matter what they price these i can guarantee it will still be way cheaper to get a brz limited from Clint . I got one this week for 25,100 but I also like Subaru way more than Toyota.

It's like the 2008 WRX owners who then saw the 2009 WRX come with more power and better suspension. Then the 2010 WRX owners saw the 2011 WRX come with same power, but a much more aggressive body style, suspension and wheels. Some changes are drastic enough that you can say, "Okay, I can see the performance advantages and these are unique, but at least they're not limited editions." However, there are no performance advantages to the Monogram Series and we're 99% sure that they'll consist of parts that have BEEN made available since launch of the FT-86. I wholeheartedly agree with you that the GT-86 Limited should have been released as another Scion trim at launch because it might have better gauged the market for these vehicles. Those that wanted a bare bones would have it, but those that wanted all the features that the other countries got would have it too. In the ends, it's all good and not Toyota's fault anyways. It's America's fault for being so picky. We never got ALL the nice things. Just most or some. haha To add my $0.02 on the radio: At least you guys get a track change BUTTON! |

Anyways if you want the phone number to Toyota for the headlights if you can't get them locally pm me and ill get you the phone number. They also have the majority of black interior parts minus radio fascia and door levers and steering wheel insert. They have everything else to order. I called them today about the Monaghan options to see if they could be added to the 2013. Parts guy said they have no information or parts for the Monaghan yet. He said they are last to know

If Toyota would have released this last year they would have gotten my money, but instead I am a happy owner of a SWP BRZ Limited.
FR-S bumper > BRZ in photos BRZ bumper > FRS in person Don't know why that is but it is. |
