Mine happened 4 days before Xmas. With holidays it took 2 weeks open to close for me. It all depends on your negotiations. Your car was so new you are in a better position to negotiate.

It will depend on the cost to repair the damage. My paperwork said it would cost 28k to repair my car and my acv (actual cash value) was 24k. Not worth it to them to repair so it was totaled. I had 20k miles and bought it sept 2012.
In the end, did they gave you a new car without you taking more money out your pocket?

I can almost bet that's a full total.. I got bumped in a parking lot, three weeks after I drove it off the lot brand new

It took a couple weeks, but I wanted it fixed right, which means taking the whole side of the car off and replacing that whole panel. 4900$ is what the insurance paid out.. Yours is much much worse, and I think you have to get to 14000 on ours to be "totaled"

I'd let them know that the value has shot down tremendously, make sure they add that in, and that you want it fixed right, and find a real quality body shop.. Be firm and it personally wouldn't deal with their insurance, I'd go through yours and let yours deal with their company.. When I was at State Farm, they agreed with me and got the claim moved up from 1100 that gieco originally did to my final settlement. I'm with usaa now, but State Farm took care of it all. I wouldn't settle for anything less then that one totaled and paid off, and then get you a new one

I'd guess total loss as repairs would probably exceed half the value of the car. Not sure there is much you can do if they deem it repairable.

Best scenario would be a week for the news, and another week for the money.

Fight for your money. Are those after market taillights? If you got the receipt try to get that money back too.

That's only necessary if putting little to no money down. A proper down payment negates the need for this.

No because I did not have "new car replacement"
I accepted offer (24k)
They paid off my loan on the car (19k)
Left me with (5k)

Then you do what you want with that...put it down on new blow it on hookers...whatev.

If you owe more than a car is worth
Owe 25k
Worth 22k
Then you have a prob. They pay loan but you are left with 3k balance you have to pay for car you don't have. Gap ins. Covers that difference so you walk away owing nothing. (Always get gap it's cheap and worth it if you don't put a huge chunk down when you buy a car)

Your car is so new this most likely will not be an issue.

I had 10k down (from trade in) so I was in a positive equity situation from day. 1.
I will pay extra for new car replacement coverage when I replace my brz in a few months. I also had a second car so I didn't use rental and could take as long as I wanted to negotiate.

Glad you're ok, but 512 miles and totalled? That sux.
Actually you might make it into the record books. Lowest mileage totaled vehicle?

Babe , you are in good shape! You will be fine and you will be in another in a week or so. Take a deep breath and try to sleep tonight.

It was brand new and you will get another brand new one.

I've been in your shoes a few weeks ago and you try to prepare for the worst but we will all tell you your going to be okay and in a new one ASAP.

Verify that with salvage thread. Pretty sure he's not #1. Maybe top 3 if you don't count the flood damage ones with 6 miles one em
