So other than the shift cover, aren't those the same as what comes in the premium trim?

Are the tS parts any different from the ordinary black ones? They look the same to me.

Looking at the pics posted in this thread, the other pieces are definitely less "black". These pieces are the finish that I was aiming to get by spraying a high gloss coat on the matte finish trim pieces. This would pretty much just leave the main dash trim pieces and door lock handles, I believe, as non-black glass finish pieces. |

Plus you always pay more for exclusivity. I'm pretty sure I'll get the tS parts separately. Hopefully soon. I will let you know how that goes and actually use a nice camera to compare the finishes. |

Apparently you're new to this whole thing. Yes, people pay more for exclusivity, not sure why that's a surprise. Been a societal standard since the dawn of man. STI loves their exclusivity.
Trust me, if I was 100% convinced they WERE exactly the same, then sure, I don't mind saving some money. However, I don't think they are exactly the same. I'm sure in your mind it doesn't make sense why anyone would buy a Limited trim of any car. I could make assumptions as to why you might choose the FR-S, but that's narrow-minded and gets nowhere. I would prefer to think that it just boils down to preference and not assume that someone is just cheap. |

I've got the JDM base model ones and they are just unpainted, not black. So there's some slight variation from part to part - my door handles are fairly glossy, for instance, but the dash panels are pretty matte. If the tS stuff is separate parts, I'd hope that they were actually painted a consistent shade.

Got my black buttons in today. What a difference, they blend so nicely with my CF shifter surround.
