Putting the ethanol rumor to the test. Emptied the tank, filled with e-free pure 93 (luckily there's a station right next to my house) and got my pump changed. Time will tell if ethanol is the real cause.

It is. It's the lubrication problem the ethanol causes.

Every time I try pick up a hooker the crickets put them on edge, let alone trying to negotiate out a price and services rendered in an already noisy underpass.

If Toyota could fix this me and my willy would greatly appreciate it

Does anyone know if Toyota/Subaru are still working on this issue? I'm pretty much using this as my only source to figure out information about this issue.

This thread is the only reason why I got my pump insulated because of the many who got replacement pumps and it didn't do anything. Now to get the ball rolling on the next steps since the insulation failed to muffle the crickets this morning for me.

What you are stating is the equivalent of throwing out the baby with the bath water--letting one minor annoyance, not even a true "issue" as you put it, spoil what is otherwise a fun driving machine. I would say that is pretty specific, no?

And please, enlighten me on my short comings. This I have to hear.
Please. Comprehension is not your strong suit is it? Go back, read my post, then consider that you just agreed with it. One man's "minor issue" is another's poor investment. Your short comings are your own, who am I to burst your bubble? - clearly you're on a one man crusade to prove "ignorance is bliss" - congrats on the win BTW. FYI, I'm not here for your entertainment nor will I grace you with any "enlightenment". Your need is far too great for even me. Enjoy this response, it's your one and only. Good luck with your car.

You're a regular chucklehut, aren't ya? All I hear from this response is "I got called on making an assumption and now I can't back it up," aka "you don't know me." I'd love to know what I am ignorant about, if I am in such need of enlightenment. You are the one that is still standing behind what I consider (obviously you don't) a weak excuse to stay away from this car. And that's fine, we all need to rationalize our decisions.

I am enjoying my "poor investment" every single day. Believe it or not, I don't really bear you any ill will. When you do decide to move on to your next car, I wish you the best of luck.

p.s.-I don't think you would really enjoy the twins anyways, coming from a 335i. Almost everyone coming from a higher HP platform has complained that there isn't enough power.

It's okay, I laugh at every broken down BMW on the side of the road because the owners can't afford to repair them out of warranty. They're pieces of shit.

Owned my car since Nov 2012 with 0 issues. Keep talking trash about the 86's. At least my car doesn't look like the entire BMW lineup in the front.

Yeah, keep those gay jokes coming, sign of a mind that can't come up with anything else to say.

Ok, I've had my fun, time to get back on topic, folks.

Oh, and p.s. again--no issues that have left me at the side of the road.

Just an FYI, there have been zero failures attributed to the fuel pump in the Toyobaru. Both companies have gone on record that the noise is no impairment to operation and vehicle reliability/longevity.

It's a silly noise that bothers some, annoys the piss out of others, and seems to go away over time.

I've had my car for a year now and it's never been back to the dealership. 20k miles.

Why do I feel like I'm talking to an 8 year old? Please, carry on with your dribble, it's actually starting to make me laugh.
