Cardlock in Junction City is where I go. 91 non-E. The new Chevron on Irving road has 92 pure as well. That is where my friend goes, since he isn't a cardlock member.

crickets may also result from certain temperature/pressure parameters?

It was the same for me, makes sense considering they only popped up in warm weather when the engine was hot.

I've had crickets pretty much all winter (once the engine is warmed up). I filled up at Dave's Pallisades today and they disappeared after about 3 miles.

Your car calls for "good" gas. Ideally 93 octane.
Chevron isn't bad but has 10% ethanol, which has a tendency to attract water/ turn to water if it sits in your tank. Pure Gasoline won't do that. You can find it in at least 5 places in Salem. Look on the Puregas website. Your car will run better and your fuel pump won't have crickets also. Added bonuses.

although ethanol content may have a factor in this, i think heat probably has a lot to do with the crickets. i only get mine when the car has been ran hot, especially in the summer. haven't heard my crickets (little to none) at all for the winter thus far.

Can't put ethanol in ever. I have only ever put in two tanks of E10 fuel and that was on a road trip through California. Soon as I go home I topped off with the usual E0. My car has never once made a cricket noise.

My buddy's BRZ (who I live with) used to run E10 before I set him straight. He had crickets at the tail end of summer. Hopefully when the heat comes back the crickets wont, but I think the damage may have been done.

It's really unlikely that it's damage; mine came back during pretty cold weather after a long day of driving. Usually I don't even get crickets during cold weather.

Damage, but not in the way of like actual damage. More like... can't be reversed.

E0 is nearly impossible to find in the Atlanta area and where I have found it, it is 91 octane. Has anyone used any of the additives that claim to mitigate the affects of ethanol?
