ARGH!!!!! All that for 24.5? I guess I'm driving to Florida around 2018!

Well that's all good to know.

Yes, I was planning on buying early in the week (fewer customers) near the end of the month. AND, also near fall too (because the next year model will be rolling in and they'll want to sell off their last years [or years before] stock).

I'll see what I can manage. I wasn't really expecting more than 2k off anyway, and am in no way discouraged to walk! There are plenty of dealerships out there

The fact that any of you are able to barter for a brand new sports car from a dealership is astonishing. Like, how many chickens or goats did you have to give up?

Thats WAY too high. For that - you may as well fly out of state, drive it back, and enjoy the open road.

I was able to negotiate just over $2000 off MSRP. Waited until the 2nd to last day of the month and took a 2013 10 series when the 2014's started to hit the dealers.

They can smell your need for a car. I would suggest just walking out on them, no point giving them any of your business. Better luck to hit up a few dealers at a time, if they have one in stock, it'll work in your favor. Sometimes dealers will trade with other dealers, so just keep an eye out.

Ask for the dealer invoice, sometimes they are willing, sometimes they aren't. This can show you how much they're really making. It's not alot. I managed to negotiate with my dealer to pretty much take $1000 of their $1500, and they were OKAY with it.

Especially since you're getting an automatic, they will want your sale. Burn your bridges with this dealer and move on. Read reviews of the dealership, send emails, make phone calls. If you're not willing to put forth the effort, then just take it as is at the sticker price.

Trading in a car is a great way around "Pure Pricing." I told them, " I know the drill." Then we negotiated on the difference. I knew the actual cash value of my trade in. They showed it on the paperwork at $4600 above what they sold my car at auction. Based on that, I paid $22,500 for my car.
