Thats called customer service... if they have you unhappy you wont go back and buy another car someday or tell your friends they treated you well. But the defects were in tolerance of what they listed.

Paint cracking and starting to rust on a fairly new car is "in tolerance" of the certified program? I don't think so

Not to mention they informed me of the wonders of touch up paint they could send me the prevents rust. Well, because painting over rust is such a good idea.

Its up to what you interpret their wording of all the acceptable defects. Im not saying they shouldnt have fixed those before selling it with at least touch up....but it is what it is. The buyer signed for the car an accepted it. People who buy cars unseen used are nuts....unless you send someone (a professional) out there to see it before hand, you have no way to know until it gets to you and then if you look it over and sign for it saying its acceptable, as far as the seller is concerned it happened after it was signed over and the buyer is trying to get over on them.

Seems no one is reading this. Good on you Shady for standing your ground. Bad on them for trying to pass off some serious dents but at least they're willing to own up. Good luck with the rest.

i understand bud i am on your said but they clearly stated

Body is reasonably free of dings
Paint is reasonably free of scratches and chips
"reasonably free" has a wide range of exceptable to them

"reasonably free" has a wide range of exceptable to them
  • Bumpers are free of cuts, gouges and scratches
  • Body is free of all dents
  • Body is reasonably free of dings
  • Vehicle is free of improper paint repairs or mismatched color

There is nothing reasonable or proper about paint cracking/visible rust on a less than 2 year old certified car...

Its technically not even supposed to have spider webs in the paint via their definition, meaning it should have had a full polish which it also did not, however I think i'll let that slide LOL

They wanted me to get an estimate, i got 2 different shop estimates both in the same ballpark. About $2100, we'll see what they say. Worse comes to worse I have to drive the car 3 hours away and drive a loaner till they fix it. However I'm not so sure I trust them to do a proper job if they let it leave the lot like they did.
