IS350 -> FR-S. I miss my amenities sometimes, and the 106 extra hp.

Traded in a fairly modded 2012 Mazda2 for my FR-S -- really wanted rwd and the 100hp in the 2 was just too anemic to live with. I traded an '02 Z06 for the 2, and in both cases I feel the FR-S is an upgrade! (but I miss that LS motor pretty much every. single. day.)

Traded my 350z G.T. in on the FR-S.

I think I'm going to trade the FR-S in for a new F150 or Colorado possibly. Just finally getting tired of small cars and this has been the most unlucky car I've ever owned in my entire life.

I have to agree with you on CVT's, I have had two - '09 Maxima and '11 CT200h. Lesson learned!

You lucky mofo lol...I wish I kept my deuce definitely regret letting it go. Unfortunately for me with my monthly expenses and my wife had to get something more spacious lol. I was going to get a InfinitiQ50 but said fuq it I need something NA with a manual gearbox. I am getting rid of the 86 in about 2 years and I guess that's when I am going to have to get something luxurious with a slush box lol.

Traded in my 384whp EVO 8.5 for the Fr-s. I would say I traded down if the Evo wasn't such a POS lol but it was so I traded up . It's much nicer to have a car that actually drives

Around here the FRS is unique and you can't walk a block without tripping over some level of Lancer/Ralliart/Evo (remember, to the non "car guy" public a base model Lancer LE looks the same as a top level Evo).
In 2003 I had one of the first Lancer Rally Editions in Ontario (we had no Lancers here before that) and it stood out from the crowd and everybody would stare. Just 3 years later it was such a common sight that it was just another car.
The Focus ST was also on my short list and is actually a great driving car (Ford surprised the crap outta me with it) but yet again there are so many around I couldn't bring myself to buy one.
I like me some unusual cars!
I do have a unique situation because I work at the Toyota Tech Center, so while there are only maybe 3 evos in the area, we have >50 FRSs in our parking lot alone. Typically in my morning commute I see at least 2 or 3.

As for the ST, I also live within an hour of the Ford technical campus so we typically have 5-10 ST's that we see on a daily basis. My evos stuck out like a sore thumb!

Good news is that the 5 year plan is to get rid of both cars and get an F type as my summer car and a golf R as the winter beater! Those will at least be a tad more unique

gave up my built 94 FD RX7 single turbo conversion.. (tear drips down cheek) need something reliable and responsible so figured a car with cupholders and a backseat was a good step. plus rotarys as simple as they are, are a pain in the arse to tune/keep alive. man, that thing pulled harder than my frs even when it had blown seals..

Traded in my 5spd 07 Scion TC for a 6spd 13 Scion FR-S. I feel as if I traded up, the TC was very heavy and the frame felt far too flexible (had full TRD suspension kit plus poly motor/trans mounts). Basically the car handled like crap and I love every min of my drive in the FR-S, night and day. In the snow though...

I miss the speed and power for sure, but I enjoy the FRS just fine. Cheaper on gas and insurance and payments too is nice.
I had a 128i 6spd sport with HID. One of my favorite cars. I was actually looking for another 128i 6spd when I ended up buying my FRS. Unfortunately 128i equipped the way I wanted seem to be pretty rare. You always find the 135i with those options but never the 128i. After my experience with my 335i I DEFINITELY did not want the 135i.

Anyways in searching for a 128i I saw an FRS at Carmax. Took it for a test drive and that was the end of my 128i search. I ended up trading a 2011 VW CC which I had just bought less than a year ago. Interior wise I think the CC was leaps above the FRS, felt like it had a bit more power, but it was just booooring and the fact that it was auto (my first auto in like 8 years) made it even worse. Not to mention that freaking turbo lag!!! So price wise it was probably an even trade, driving wise it was totally an up trade!

There should have been a poll answer for "I felt I traded up"....not everyone traded up from a POS lol.

My previous car was an 08' Civic....it was nothing special but it never let me down that's for sure. Loved that thing but I hate where the body styles are headed.
