I made some heat shields for my ft86SF header to prevent them from heating up the oil pan. We'll see how it holds up. Working on another heat shield to protect the coil pack.

Is it just metal or did you put another material between the metal and header?

I took the original material that was used on the OEM header and put it in between the two sheets of metal (it was some sort of fiber glass I think). Reduce, reuse, recycle :p. I tried to push it in from the edge so it didn't stick out, so that's why you can only see it on the left one in the picture, but it's there.

Just did my third oil change at 11950 miles (finally doing my own maintenance!). Installed a fumoto valve in the process, should make for easier oil changes in the future.

Well I didn't do both of these today but I installed a track pipe and painted my calipers red. Tomorrow I'm getting tires for my tsw nurburgring 18x8 wheels and I will be putting those on.

Swapped out this clutch cylinder following @Ultramaroon's awesome guide, between that and the clutch return spring removal that pedal is feeling great.

Asked my father to go and get it tinted for me while I'm out on the road for work.

My dad won't touch my car. Says it's a bit too loud and too low to the ground for him. I guess I'm just a rebel :p

Anyways, I'm doing my taxes and it looks like I'll be able to buy the head and tail lights and the vented hood I've been eyeing...

Gonna make for a nice birthday present

My dad is a man child when he gets behind the wheel of my car. Last time I was home, I heard him grumbling about "that stupid car is loud and I don't like getting in and out of it". Next thing I know,he's got it idling in the driveway, revving it up.

Funny part is, that the odds are your dads are actually younger then many of us on here!

He just turned 59 this weekend. So maybe...

He's never been mechanically inclined, he prefers to work enough to pay someone to do the work on his cars for him. So I had to learn a lot of car stuff myself.

Now I'm debating whether or not to paint the CF hood, or just get it clear coated to protect it from the sun...

I would just clear coat otherwise the investment on CF to save only a couple of pounds doesn't make much sense. I for one, like the look of CF (my one concession to "rice" I guess) although I know many don't like the look.
The only problem may be that with just the hood done on a white car it could look unbalanced.

You and I have the same train of thought. I'm mainly doing the CF Hood because I love the way the vents look, for some extra air flow, and I also like the weave of CF.

But I don't plan to get any other CF on the exterior of the car, so that may look odd. On darker cars it blends well, but I'm not so sure on a white paintjob.

I may just sleep on it, but everytime I see one in photos I get excited about it again...
