Did they tell you how much it would be if you bought it back from them? It'd probably better if you just did that, got what you want out of the car, then sold the rest for parts.

1st off: Thank you for your service.

Next: really? Do you want the possible headache if they come back at you re: mysterious missing parts? Is it really worth it?

Move on. Take the money and get another car.

Why do people feel the need to thank service members for their service? Not like it's conscription.

Amen to that.. half of my family is in the service and I thank them by being an upstanding individual that supports them and the community in which I live, but we don't have to go out of our way to say "thank you for your service" to others like us... like their duty and activities are above, say, a Firefighter or a Paramedic..

Always made me feel VERY uncomfortable when I was in uniform and someone would thank me. The only time I appreciated it was when some very, very old man hobbled up to me and said "Thank god, the Guns. Thanks for serving". Very cool to have someone recognize me as an artilleryman, rather than their good deed for the day.

So now what if they were aftermarket parts you want to take back? Could you swap them back to the old stock ones you have in the garage before they haul the car away?

Yep!

I took a 4.5" rubi express lift kit, custom rock armor and bumpers, exhaust, and other suspension bits off of my first vehicle, a 1999 Cherokee that I rolled at Reiter pit... Did everything in the yard. Brought all my tools. Ended up coming out of it very handsomely and lived good for my first couple years of college

Despite the likelihood you won't be successful in cherry picking your car. I think the big ticket item would be the HID headlights and hard to find items would be the light up badges, and interior EL panel. Believe it or not, people want OEM Scion center caps for their wheels?!?!
