I doubt it too. Since the airbags are deployed by an explosive device and are designed to head in a very specific direction I am not sure that containing them in an unyielding leather wrap would work in the driver's favour.
This is probably one of the very rare occasions that disabling the bags may actually be a god idea.

You're not going to be cornering heavily in a stock fr-s safely or strategically. Most guys i know who "corner heavily" has already invested in in a good setup of coil-overs so they wouldn't slide around in their cars. But if it really bugs you that much get a safety harness. But I've slid my car around without sliding around in my car.

I see that the Sard's tuck into the sides of the bottom cushion of the seats. Do they ever tend to start coming out after repeatedly going in and out of the seats?

At what point did I say I slid around in my FR-S?

You stated that there is a high possibility of sliding in a leather seated car while cornering.

As compared to a cloth seat, yes. Look at that picture. Those covers nearly level out the bolster. If I were to drive that car on my usual spirited run roads, I can guarantee you my legs would shift.

Is this OK? Or should I go get myself a harness?

Nope SARD took into account the side airbags in the seats and these are safe to have over top, no need to disable airbags. They used special stitching in the areas to ensure the airbags would still deploy properly.

Thank you! I was going to research it but that saves me the trouble. Certainly makes a case for avoiding cheap knockoffs though as I would be very surprised if they did the same.

I'd stay to get a stiffer suspension set up

No problem, I did a lot of research on seat covers and the SARD's are my top choice by far

I am not after covers but was really curious about the whole airbag thing. It is one of those things people don't know about or don't think of when they mod.

Stock seats redone in black leather

I have black leather redone by coach automotive when I got the car from the San Francisco dealership. I've always really liked their work and it came out really nice in my car. Over a year later some leather in the back seat near the button to lower the seats started coming up a little and this wasn't a big deal at all but Im kind of anal so I called them and they came to my work took my back seat and the next day returned it completely redone in new leather with out costing me anything. They did a good job but it was a little pricey. http://www.mycoachleather.com

Clazzio does:

We use thread designed for the side impact airbag. It has been proven that Clazzio does not have any effect on the deployment of the side impact airbag.
